YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD ON YOUR OWN TERMS

When a person gives his or her life to Jesus Christ, there is usually great rejoicing in heaven (Luke 15:7). As the Word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "When anyone is joined to Christ, he is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come." Drawing from this second Scripture reference above, it is expected that a person who knows Christ should live a transformed life, visible even to those who knew the individual before. This visible transformation is made possible by the power of God's Holy Spirit that He makes available to all who diligently seek Him in spirit and truth. It also means the transformed person is so committed to the things of God that even his or her old friends who are still engaged in worldliness know the limits of doing or saying things that offend God in the Christian's presence. The light of Christ must be visible in the life of a Christian not just to showcase the Gospel message of Salvation in word and deed to those in ...

DO NOT DARE GIVE WRONG INTERPRETATION TO GOD'S WORD

Dear friend, have you ever heard someone or a preacher say, "I THINK this is what God was trying to say" when giving interpretation to a Bible passage? There is absolute need to ensure that God's Word is not misinterpreted to suit one's purpose or for the purpose of misleading others because that is very deceitful, very dangerous and  very sinful. When satan came to tempt the Lord Jesus Christ after Jesus fasted 40 days and nights while here on earth as a human, satan quoted the Word of God to suit his purpose when he stated that if the Lord Jesus Christ were the Son of God He should jump from the top of the Temple in Jerusalem and satan quoted the Scripture where it says God will give His angels charge over us, and they would hold us and not allow our feet to be hurt on the stones (Psalm 91:11-12). The truth is, if satan could tempt His Creator, Jesus Christ, satan can do it to anyone. However, it would be very dangerous for anyone to allow himself or h...

ADULTERY AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

The wedding day between a man and woman is usually filled with joy, celebration, pomp and pageantry. Please note that I wrote between a man and woman because that is the ONLY union the Almighty God of the Universe recognises. Anything else is of the devil. The day of wedding is a culmination of the love the couple have professed to each other and during the ceremony there is the usually the hope that the union would last till only death separates them. Indeed, in Christian marriages, the couple takes a vow of fidelity to themselves in the presence of God who instituted marriage and in the presence of humans as witnesses to the union. Fidelity would be in all things including the fact that the man and woman would only share their bodies with each other and absolutely no one else. God stamps His approval of such union because at the beginning, He commanded man to be fruitful, to multiply and have dominion over the entire earth (Genesis 1:28). Marriage is therefore the o...

THE DANGER OF LYING AND DECEIT

Dear reader, today's world is filled with many who engage in lying and deceit for a living. Such folks tell lies at the slightest calling and engage in deceits of all kinds no matter who they are involved with. They tell lies at home, at school, at work, in business, in social gatherings and even in the Church of God Almighty! You see people who are quick to tell you that Church is Church and business is business, which by their own interpretation means the truth should only be told in Church and not in business. How sad and unfortunate! When He addressed the Pharisees for not believing in Him and His Gospel message of salvation, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ referred to satan or the devil as their (Pharisees’) father and father of lies and deceit. It is written in John 8:42-44, Jesus said to them (Pharisees), "If God really were your Father, you would love Me, because I come from God and now I am here. I did not come on My own authority, but He sent Me. ...
