IT IS ONLY GOD WHO PRESERVES US

Proverbs 2:10-15, 20-22 (AMPC)   “ For skillful  and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you.   11 Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you,   12 To deliver you from the way of evil  and the evil men, from men who speak perverse things  and are liars,   13 Men who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,   14 Who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,   15 Who are crooked in their ways, wayward  and devious in their paths.   20 So may you walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God).   21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless  and complete [in God's sight], shall remain in it;   22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous ...

HOW CHILDREN BEAR THE INIQUITIES OF THEIR FATHER OR MOTHER

Deuteronomy 5:9b-10    “ for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,   10 And showing mercy  and steadfast love to thousands  and to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.”   Dear people of God, there are some Christians who are of the view that the above Scripture does not apply to Christians since we are now operating under the New Testament and that the Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.   One could even rightly reference the infallible Word of God in the Bible to buttress this point whilst quoting what God says in Ezekiel 18:20 (AMPC), “ The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die. The son shall not bear  and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear  and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the r...

A WARNING TO MOCKERS AND SCOFFERS

PROVERBS 21:23-24   “He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from troubles. [Prov. 12:13; 13:3; 18:21; James 3:2.]   24 The proud  and haughty man–Scoffer is his name–deals  and acts with overbearing pride.”   Dear people of God, some years ago, I had a very bad habit of mocking others without realising that I was hurting people. By God’s grace I have given up the bad habit.   One of the biggest sins many engage in is talking bad about people behind their back and mocking or castigating them in their presence.   Some women have a very nasty habit of scouting round for hurtful information concerning others and whenever they enter a quarrel with such people, they begin to release their “missile” of hurtful words from their mouth against the person with intent to cause great distress, pain and sadness.   For the menfolk, what some do is crack spiteful and cruel jokes against others and they see it as a normal way of life. ...

THE PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Titus 2:7-8 (AMPC)   “And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern  and a model of good deeds  and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity  and seriousness.   8 And let your instruction be sound  and fit  and wise  and wholesome, vigorous  and irrefutable  and above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting  or evil to say about us.”   Dear people of God, whenever and wherever a Believer in Jesus Christ stands to minister to others, he is acting as an ambassador of Jesus Christ.   He is representing Jesus Christ because Jesus has commanded all believers to go and preach to everyone the Gospel or Good News concerning Repentance and Salvation found only in Him.   Jesus Christ our Lord was a Preacher of Righteousness while He was here on earth as a human being.   There was no...

A MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS WHO REFUSE TO PAY TITHES (2)

2 Timothy 4:1-5 (AMPC)   “ 1  I CHARGE [you] in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, Who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (in the light of) His coming and His K ingdom:   2  Herald  and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favo u rable or unfavo u rable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking  and correcting, warning  and urging  and encouraging them, being unflagging  and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.   3  For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound  and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own li...
