DOING BUSINESS WITH THE WICKED

2 Chronicles 20:35-37 (AMPC)   “35 After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly.   36 He joined him in building ships to go to Tarshish, building them in Ezion-geber.   37 Then Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, because you have joined Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy your works. So the ships were wrecked and unable to go to Tarshish.”   Dear people of God, as someone gets close to God and matures in Christianity, there is a certain level of behaviour God expects of you.   The way God treats a baby or immature Christian is different from the way He treats a mature Christian who has experienced the Truth of God’s Word, God’s attributes and character.   What God would overlook for a baby Christian, He would not overlook for a mature Christian.   For instance, the Lord once told the general overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye that he (Adeboye) s...

THE WORKS OF THE FLESH - PARTY SPIRIT

Galatians  5:19-21 (AMPC)   “19 Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency,   20 Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies),   21 Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”   Dear people of God, sometimes, people get into activities that are offensive to God without even realizing their actions and its gravity.   For instance, today’s lead Holy Bible text above warns against party spirit or forming factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies.   You can find such behaviour in offices and even in Churches. I want to limit my review to these two areas because you find Christians here who unwittingly get into this dangerous be...

PUT YOUR TRUST ONLY IN GOD (2)

2 Chronicles 16:7-9 (AMPC)  “ 7 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, because you relied on the king of Syria and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped you.   8 Were not the Ethiopians and Libyans a huge host with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied then on the Lord, He gave them into your hand.   9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him. You have done foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you shall have wars.   Dear people of God, again, from today’s lead Holy Bible text, we see the danger of trusting in humans rather than trusting in God.   Asa the king of Judah was under attack from Baasha king of Israel. Asa then went to Ben-Hadad the king of Syria and convinced Ben-Hadad to break his treaty with Israel and join forces with Judah to attack Israel. ...

PUT YOUR TRUST ONLY IN GOD

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (AMPC)   “5 Thus says the Lord: Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak [human] flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.   6 For he shall be like a shrub or a person naked and destitute in the desert; and he shall not see any good come, but shall dwell in the parched places in the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.   7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.   8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.”     Dear people of God, the West African nation of Nigeria concluded political elections into the nat...
