Dear people of God, in the last 2 weeks, we have examined this topic whilst looking at two major issues, how it is that in a bid to resolve their problems, people ignorantly pursue their own wrong choices rather than focus on the Word of God, the solution to every problem. Last week, we examined the challenge with chasing alcohol as a temporary solution to one’s problems and we saw from God’s Word the danger with using alcohol. Today, we will look at another common wrong solution people use today as a way out of their problems, which is harlotry. What is harlotry? The dictionary defines harlotry simply as offering sexual intercourse for pay. Though some men are into this ungodly practice, it is usually done mostly by women who are trying to raise money to pay their bills. Dear people of God, in my first post under this topic, we considered the FREEDOM the Lord Jesus Christ gives to all who come to Him in Spirit and in Truth. We saw how people trouble themselves over so many things in life and that only One Thing, God’s infallible Word in the Holy Bible, is required as a solution to every human problem. Let us see what God’s Word says on alcohol in Proverbs 31:4-5, “ It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to desire strong drink, [Eccl. 10:17; Hos. 4:11.] 5 Lest they drink and forget the law  and what it decrees, and pervert the justice due any of the afflicted. Dear friend, so many things bother us in this life and one major issue is money. In fact, the Bible says this about money in Ecclesiastes 10:19, “A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything. Money is required to pay bills – pay rent or buy a house, pay for food, clothing, electricity, water, waste, school fees, help others in need (scholarships, food, shelter, clothing, etc), settle hospital bills, take a vacation, buy a car, celebrate birthdays, weddings, burials, etc. Majority of people in this world are simply struggling to pay their bills every single day. When the Lord Jesus went to visit his friends, the family of Lazarus, Mary and Martha, He (Jesus) sat in the sitting room teaching the Word of God.
