I asked a friend recently what he thought about single mothers with children and his response was that it was a matter of choice. I then asked him whether it was right for a woman to have children without being married and he said no. What we both agreed eventually was that it was fornication, which the Word of God, the Holy Bible condemns as a sin. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:22-23, "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body." So many people live in fear and uncertainty and with news of world economies passing through rough times, this fear is on the increase. Many are having increased blood pressure and tension runs in families trying to meet their financial demands. There are several spiritual sins people commit without realizing it, and envy is one of them. An envious person looks at the progress others are making and rather than find out how to go about theirs, they concern themselves with bitterness and resentment towards successful people. Some even go to the extent of planning evil against those they envy and even end up killing them. The first case of envy recorded in human history is the story of Cain and Abel in the Holy Bible. Abel offered the best of his animals to God in sacrifice while Cain, his brother, presented poor quality gifts to God. While God accepted and acknowledged Abel's gifts, He rejected Cain's; Cain became envious and then killed his own brother in the process. Dear friend, we live in a physical world that we see physically, and so many unseen things happen spiritually that we do not see. However, it is pertinent to note that the spiritual world governs the physical world. Ignorance of this fact is what is responsible for the challenges most people face. For Christians who understand this fact, they know what to do but for Christians and non-Christians who are ignorant of this fact, the world can be a daunting challenge for them.
