EFFECTIVE PRAYER AND DECLARATION

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].” Dear people of God, when you pray you are communicating with God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You must end the prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for it to have meaning with God. When the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of mankind, God restored to mankind every blessing (Ephesians 1:3) lost to sin of disobedience resulting from satan’s deceit at the beginning. Since God has restored all these blessings, the bulk of a Christian’s time in prayer should be spent worshipping, praising and thanking God for His goodness and greatness. If you must request for anything, let it be in accordance with God’s Word for you to get a prompt answer. The Lord Jesus says this in John 15:7, “If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your...

THE OCCULTIC CHURCH GOER

In very many Churches these days you find people who claim to belong to Jesus Christ but also engage in occultic practices. Such people believe there is no difference between one from the other. In fact I have heard a story of a cab driver who was a Muslim and hung a Roman Catholic rosary in his vehicle and while he was carrying a passenger, the voodoo charm he had made fell out of the vehicle’s glove compartment as he entered a little ditch. When asked why he had all these items, he responded that he did it for protection and he tried all in a bid to make sure at least one of them would work for him. The Word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:20-23, “ No, I am suggesting that what the pagans sacrifice they offer [in effect] to demons (to evil spiritual powers) and not to God [at all]. I do not want you to fellowship and be partners with diabolical spirits [by eating at their feasts]. 21 You cannot drink the Lord's cup and the demons' cup. You cannot pa...

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS –ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL TESTIMONY

I love hearing testimonies of the faithfulness of God in the lives of people. Only yesterday Friday September 16, 2017 I heard one such beautiful testimony. I have this friend in the office who did not show up for work on Monday September 11, 2017. When he came the next day and I asked him what the matter was, he told me how his mother had been ill for the last four months and his family had visited hospitals and spent money on her all to no avail. His mum developed a rash on her skin that simply refused to go. His dad eventually took her to their country home to see if they could get any help there. As I listened to him tell his story, I could see he was pained in his heart and almost at the point of shedding tears over the seeming helplessness of the situation. After hearing his story, I took time to explain to him what the Lord Jesus Christ had done for His children on the Cross of Calvary and I quoted these two scriptures as proof: (1) Matthew 8:16...

GOD REMEMBERS HIS COVENANTS

The Word of God tells us in Psalm 105:8, “ He (God) is [earnestly] mindful of His covenant and forever it is imprinted on His heart, the Word which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,” This is the same God Who spoke the Universe into existence by His spoken Word – Psalm 33:6; Hebrews 11:3; 2 Peter 3:5. The greatest covenant God entered into with mankind is in Genesis 3:15 when He promised to send a Saviour into the world to redeem mankind from sin and separation from God caused by disobedience to God’s commandments through satan’s deceit. Adam and Eve were the ones who committed this sin but being parents of all mankind (Acts 17:26), the devastating effects of that sin (death, pain, evil and all manner of suffering) has spread to all mankind. God fulfilled the demands of that covenant of mankind’s redemption when His only Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ came into this world as a human being and at the hands of the Romans and Jews suffe...

CRISES, CRISES, EVERYWHERE

If you have been following news recently, you would have heard of natural disasters happening in different countries of the world resulting in the untimely deaths of many. I call the deaths untimely because of the manner in which it happened. We have heard of hurricanes in the United States of America, mudslides in Sierra Leone and Uganda, Landslides in DR Congo, Cyclones in Mexico, Flashfloods in Cameroon, Mali, Guinea, Ghana and Nigeria, Forest Fires in Tunisia, Cholera in Sudan, Flashfloods and mudslides in Myanmar and Tajikistan, earthquakes in the Philippines. We have heard of floods and landslides in China and Bangladesh, Drought in North Korea, Hepatitis and Lassa fever in Nigeria, polio in Syria. All these disasters have happened just between June and August 2017 leaving hundreds dead with several thousand displaced and affected. The world is wondering what is really going on. They erroneously call these disasters acts of God, when in fact they are acts of...
