FORNICATORS AND ADULTERERS
Matthew 5:27-28 (AMPC) “ You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery. [Exod. 20:14; Deut. 5:18.] 28 But I say to you that everyone who so much as looks at a woman with evil desire for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Dear people of God, who is a fornicator and who is an adulterer? A fornicator is an unmarried person who engages in intimate relations with someone to whom he or she is not married. An adulterer is a married person having intimate relations with someone to whom he or she is not married. However, the Lord Jesus Christ takes it a notch higher in warning humans that even a lustful look at another person amounts to fornication or adultery. What the Lord is saying here is that the person’s heart is already defiled by lust and lustful thoughts even when the physical act is not yet carried out.
