THERE IS NO CHURCH DENOMINATION IN HEAVEN

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (AMPC) “All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of His creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil. [Matt. 12:36; Acts 17:30, 31; Rom. 2:16; I Cor. 4:5.]” Dear people of God, at times, we have some ignorant Christians who speak of the superiority of their church denomination over others. There are also some pastors with dishonourable motives who set up a church denomination not with intention to preach the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ but with intention to defraud the congregation spiritually and financially. Such preachers were not called by Go...

FAITH AND REASON

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NKJV) “ And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,    5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”   Dear people of God, the online dictionary defines the word “reason” as a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.   “Reason” is also defined as the power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgements logically.   According to wikipedia, Reasoning is associated with the acts of thinking and cognition, and involves using one's intellect. The field of logic studies the ways in which humans can use formal reasoning to produce logically valid arguments.   The word “Faith” is defined online as a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.   In God’s Word in Hebrews 11:1 (GNBDK) in the Holy Bible, the word “Faith” is def...

HONOURING VOWS, PLEDGES, PROMISES AND COMMITMENTS

Deuteronomy 23:21-23 (NIV) “ If you make a vow to the  Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the  Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.    22 But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty.    23 Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the  Lord your God with your own mouth.”   Dear people of God, there are many people in today’s world who with ease make vows, pledges and promises but fail to honour it.   It is even worse in Church where some people make financial pledges voluntarily but fail to honour it and believe it has no consequence. Look again at today’s lead Holy Bible text and you realize that God demands that we fulfil every vow or pledge made.   Take note also that God says it NOT a sin NOT to make a vow before God but once you do, you MUST honour it.   Outside Church, many people enter into verbal and written agreemen...

GETTING IT RIGHT WITH THE LORD ALWAYS

1 John 2:25-27 (AMPC) “ And this is what He Himself has promised us–the life, the eternal [life].   26 I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you [seduce and lead you astray].   27 But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do].”   Dear people of God, a born-again Christian as we are told today receives an anointing of God’s Holy Spirit that abides permanently in him or her and that anointing teaches the person concerning everything that is true and without falsehood.   However, Christians are further instructed to abide in the Lord, never to depart from Him, being rooted i...

WORLDLINESS IN THE CHURCH (2)

Titus 2:11-14 (AMPC) “ For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind.   12 It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,   13 Awaiting and looking for the [fulfillment, the realization of our] blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One),   14 Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.”     Dear people of God, in the first part of this message, we established that the g...
