In China and a number of countries, medical personnel are working hard to stem the spread of the Coronavirus that originated from Wuhan province of China. Latest reports as of Saturday January 25, 2020 has it that about 41 people have lost their lives while more than 1,300 have been infected. In fact, it is also reported that hospitals in Wuhan province of China are overwhelmed by the number of cases that they are now turning back infected patients. What are these patients expected to do? Nobody seems to know, even as the scourge continues to spread even to Europe with 3 confirmed cases in France while the UK is investigating a number of suspect cases. It has also reach Australia, the US and 7 other countries in Asia.  Proverbs 22:15  “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.” Dear people of God, the Word of God speaks about events of the last days and how people would behave in many verses one of which is 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Having described the characters of such people, verse 5 ends with an admonition that we should avoid such persons. This admonition appears to be falling on deaf ears the world over when we observe the behaviour of our youth of today. Rather than take the advice, they are exhibiting the very characteristics the Bible warns against. Here in Nigeria, a country where churches are springing up and many display religion, it does appear nothing much has changed in the behaviour of the youth. The individual who by the Grace of Almighty God and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has come to know and experience the saving grace found only in Jesus Christ has a serious obligation to tell others about Jesus Christ. It is not just the duty of the church overseer, pastor, reverend father or reverend alone to share God’s Word with others. See what Jesus says in Mark 16:15-16 (AMPC), “Go into all the world and preach  and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race]. 16 He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned.” If this command was only for the Apostles of Jesus Christ, then the Gospel would have ended with them but it was a command to every generation...

[He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]” Dear people of God, I wish you the Happiest of New Years in 2020 in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen. As is usual with most of us, we would have reflected over 2019 and made some resolutions, goals and commitments for 2020. My simple advice to everyone reading this message today is that you include the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah and Master of the Universe in whatever plans you have for 2020. You must include Jesus Christ because He is the ONLY person Who would never mislead you because of His unfailing love for you as your Creator and God.
