THE RIGHT WAY TO PRAY (2)

John 15:7-8 (AMPC)   “If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My Words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.   8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”   Dear people of God, in the first part of this message, we showed how prayer is communication with Almighty God and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ and must therefore be done with all reverence due to Him.   We also saw that prayer to God as our Lord Jesus Christ stated must not involve too many long words like unbelievers engage in.   We showed that God’s face is inclined to the prayers of people who are righteous, that is, who are living an upright and obedient life to His commands.   We showed that prayer must be made in faith and according to the Word of God or the will of God, which is His Word. ...

HOW DO YOU DETERMINE GOD’S WILL ON ANY MATTER?

There are people who pray to God on a matter and usually end it with the phrase, “please grant this request if it is according to your will.” Let us see what the Bible says in 1 John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.” Drawing from this Scripture reference, we know for sure that God’s will is His own plan and that God would grant any prayer that is according to His will.
