NOT ALL PASTORS ARE MEN OF GOD

2 JOHN 1:9 – 11 “Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son.   10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine [is disloyal to what Jesus Christ taught], do not receive him [do not accept him, do not welcome or admit him] into [your] house or bid him Godspeed or give him any encouragement.   11 For he who wishes him success [who encourages him, wishing him Godspeed] is a partaker in his evil doings.”   Dear people of God, all men of God are pastors but not all pastors are men of God.   So what is the difference?   When you mention God in a title, not everyone qualifies for that title as we shall soon see in this message.   The Lord Jesus made it clear that not everyone who calls Him Lord shall enter His kingdom but...

MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THE NEW TESTAMENT (2)

Hebrews 8:6-7 (AMPC)  “ But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior  and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior  and more excellent, [because] it is enacted  and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.   7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one  or an attempt to institute another one.” Dear friend, in the first part of this post, we saw a number of major differences between the Old Testament and New Testament.   We saw that the Old Testament was given by God as a law for the Jews practising Judaism whilst the New Testament is given by God as a law for Christians and indeed the entire world.   God expects that all human beings would believe His Word in the Holy Bible, repent of sin, confess sins to Him for forgiveness, forsake sin...

SEEK TO KNOW WHO A CHRISTIAN IS

Hebrews 8:6-7 (AMPC)  “ But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior  and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior  and more excellent, [because] it is enacted  and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.   7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one  or an attempt to institute another one.”   Dear people of God, from a number of conversations I have had with Christians on some issues bothering on the rights of a Christian in Christ, I have discovered, though sadly, that many are just not aware of these rights.   As a result, many go through life experiencing a lot of difficulties at the hands of the devil and his agents, both demons and human.   Consequently, many Christians are afraid of things that ordinarily they should give a...

VALIDATING A PREACHER’S MESSAGE

2 Timothy 4:2-4 (AMPC) “ Herald  and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favo u rable or unfavo u rable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking  and correcting, warning  and urging  and encouraging them, being unflagging  and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.   3 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound  and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking  and to foster the errors they hold,   4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths  and man-made fictions.”   Dear people of God...
