Every affliction that befalls a human being is caused by the devil. Many people, especially Christians, are familiar with the fact that sin opens the door for satan to enter to cause affliction in a person’s life. We see an example of this in the life of the man at the pool of Bethesda whom the Lord Jesus Christ cured of an affliction he suffered for 38 years. Not long after curing the man, the Jewish authorities were questioning the man on his healing and then the Lord Jesus found him shortly after and had this conversation with him again in John 5:14, “ Afterward, when Jesus found him in the temple, He said to him, See, you are well!
