GOING TO HEAVEN FROM NIGERIA

2 Corinthians 6:14 (AMPC) “ Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?”   Dear people of God, the nation of Nigeria in West Africa is immensely blessed of God with abundance of natural and human resources.   Unfortunately, this same nation is governed by a group of savagely and notoriously corrupt officials whose ungodly activities over the years have made the socio-political environment very hostile to anyone who is committed to Godliness.   Corruption and ineptitude is a state policy and the nation appears to be drifting into more and more lawlessness every day.   You can hardly obtain any service from any public sector organization at the official price without having to part with more money via of...

REPEATING PATTERNS OF UNGODLINESS

Ecclesiastes 1:9 (AMPC) “ The thing that has been–it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun.”   Dear people of God, there is a pattern I have observed even as I grow older daily, which indeed is a sad one.   You see young maidens who get into high school, complete high school, and then begin to follow the young men in the area who deceive them with false stories of love (lust in reality) and this continues until you no longer see the maiden for some time.   The next time she appears, she is with a baby and the young men who once chased her are now nowhere to be found.   Why do these maidens make this same mistake repeatedly? It is either the result of a faulty family upbringing or a refusal to learn from the mistakes of others.   These maidens believe these young jobless men are truly interested in them whereas the objective for the young men is to satisfy their immoral craving...

PROFESSING JESUS CHRIST ON EARTH WHILE HEADING FOR AN ETERNITY IN HELL (2)

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (AMPC) “Now also we beseech you, brethren, get to know those who labor among you [recognize them for what they are, acknowledge and appreciate and respect them all]–your leaders who are over you in the Lord and those who warn and kindly reprove and exhort you.   13 And hold them in very high and most affectionate esteem in [intelligent and sympathetic] appreciation of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.”   Dear people of God, in our lead Holy Bible text for today, Christians are commanded to show respect for their spiritual or religious leaders and to hold them in very high and most affectionate esteem in appreciation of their work.   I am referring here to all spiritual leaders – pastors, teachers, prophets, apostles, evangelists, etc.   Now, if you take time again to look at 1 Thessalonians 5:12 above, God’s Word gives detailed description of the attributes of the spiritual leaders we are to hold in high esteem – those w...

PROFESSING JESUS CHRIST ON EARTH WHILE HEADING FOR AN ETERNITY IN HELL

Galatians 6:7-8 (AMPC) “ Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.   8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life .”   Dear people of God, the Gospel of Christ Jesus is called Good News because it gives liberty to anyone who believes, accepts and does EXACTLY what it says.   The Gospel can also be a source of condemnation for anyone just as the Lord Jesus Christ warns in John 12:48 (AMPC), “ Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, has his judge [however]; for the [very] message...
