GOING TO HEAVEN FROM NIGERIA

2 Corinthians 6:14 (AMPC)
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?”

Dear people of God, the nation of Nigeria in West Africa is immensely blessed of God with abundance of natural and human resources.

Unfortunately, this same nation is governed by a group of savagely and notoriously corrupt officials whose ungodly activities over the years have made the socio-political environment very hostile to anyone who is committed to Godliness.

Corruption and ineptitude is a state policy and the nation appears to be drifting into more and more lawlessness every day.

You can hardly obtain any service from any public sector organization at the official price without having to part with more money via official extortion and at times through bribery to hasten the service delivery.

Whether it is a government contract, registering a company, obtaining an international passport, payment of taxes and other official levies, obtaining a driver’s licence, police report, affidavit, payment of import duties, passing through customs’ check points at the airport or seaports, obtaining landed property documents, transporting goods through the roads from one region to the other, the story remains the same.

Law enforcement agents violate traffic laws at will and those who should bring them to book look the other way because they are all birds of the same feather.

Everything done at management and staff levels of all public sector institutions is with just one objective, which is to steal, defraud service requesters and embezzle public funds.

What is most pathetic is these same corrupt and inept government officials and civil servants who create these bottle necks to stifle business activities to enrich themselves are not able to produce anything in their active service years and when they retire, they expect to receive monthly pension for work they hardly ever did.

Unfortunately, again, majority of the country’s hapless citizens have joined these corrupt government officials because they have resigned themselves to fate believing nothing good can ever come out of the nation.

Heads and staff of parastatals and other regulatory agencies of government collude with private sector organizations who provide essential services to the public to inflate prices of their services at will because these private sector service providers would come back to “appreciate” them especially during festive seasons.

When state and national elections to elect political leaders are approaching, these government agencies force businesspeople to pay monies fraudulently channelled to their political leaders that would be used to bribe the electorates to vote for them.

Consequently, prices of goods and services keep rising because the government agencies that should check these have sold their consciences through collusion and receipt of gratification as a standard policy.

On the roads, many private and commercial vehicles and motorbikes are all in a hurry to get to their destinations and break traffic rules at will driving against traffic, offering bribes to law enforcement officers who are more interesting in making money from them than enforcing the law.

The situation of Nigeria is very depressing, and it is only God Who can save the nation.

The question now is, is God Almighty and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ not aware of these things? Of course, He is aware.

Since God is aware, how come He is not responding to the various prayers of Christians at different levels to save this nation from the terrible rot it is currently experiencing?

The simple answer is that the Christian Religious leaders have themselves failed the Lord and severally violated His commandments in the Holy Bible.

In the Church, the religious leaders are not teaching Christians the reverential fear of God and the strict and uncompromising adherence to His Word. Instead, their focus is on prosperity and material success alone.

Contrary to God’s Word in Luke 6:27-31 and 1 Timothy 2:1-4, these religious leaders also teach their congregation to hate, resent and pray for the destruction and death of their human enemies and the corrupt political office holders.

Hardly do they ever warn their congregation about the dangers and consequences of sin, immorality, heaven, hell and all the vices being tolerated in many Christian gatherings today and the fact that God only responds to His Word when people pray with it to Him in faith.

God says He cannot change - Malachi 3:6a; Hebrews 13:8.

Therefore, God cannot violate His Word by responding to prayers contrary to what He has demanded of His children.

Religious leaders in Nigeria need to come together with their congregation, proclaim a season of fasting, repent sincerely in dust and ashes, ask God for forgiveness and then teach ONLY Truth and act in accordance with God’s infallible Word.

Dear friend, please take note that God will NOT for the sake of the Nigerian Christian lower His righteous demands of Holiness and Righteousness just because this Christian is living in a spiritually and morally decadent society.

God demands perfection (Matthew 5:48) and holiness (1 Peter 1:14-16) of anyone who professes Christianity and claims to be a child of the Most High regardless of where you were born, the circumstances of your birth, and your present circumstances.

Everyone everywhere on this planet earth would be judged by God using the same standard of Truth, Holiness and Righteousness found in His Word in the Holy Bible – Hebrews 4:13.

The earlier Nigerian Christians understand this irreversible Truth, urgently amend their compromised ways and return sincerely to God in uncompromising obedience to ALL His commands, the better for them and the better the nation would be.

Then God would show mercy and answer the prayers of His children who call upon Him in faith.

Do not allow anyone to deceive you, dear friend, because you would only have yourself to blame if you die in sinful compromise of your Christian faith and end up in eternal damnation.

Jesus Christ is coming shortly to take away only His qualified children in Rapture. Are you His child? Are you ready for Him?

Come today and now, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.

Gabriel Ama.
