IS YOUR TALENT YOUR MAKING OR GOD'S MAKING?

In this life we have people who are very talented in different endeavours - music, football, business, writing, singing, dancing, cooking, sports, etc. Many atimes some people use these talents to serve themselves only and for the sole purpose of making money. When the money eventually comes, they say they are self made. And with this money they begin to see themselves as demigods who can do and undo. They go on spending sprees, drinking, eating, and make merry with their friends and acquaintances.  Dear friend, there is nothing wrong with having a talent and there is nothing wrong in using the talent to earn a living. What is wrong is not using this same talent to serve God and acknowledge God as the One who gave the talent and Who deserves all the glory. Now, the question we ask at this point is, whose making is the talent, yours or God's? If you say it is God, you have spoken right and spoken well. If you say the talent is your making, then you have got it ...

GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON ANYONE

Dear friend, when our Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins some 1,981 years ago on the Cross of Calvary at Golgotha in Israel, He did it for everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender, social status, economic status, political status, level of education, etc. Jesus is our Creator as His Word, the Holy Bible tells us in John 1:3. He loves us so much that even when the first man and woman Adam and Eve disobeyed Him at the Garden of Eden, sinned and became disconnected from God, He still promised to redeem mankind (Gen. 3:15). He kept that promise when He came to earth as a human being and gave His precious life for mankind to reconcile us back to God the Father Almighty (Romans 5:10; 2 Cor. 5:18-19). Many people out there believe Jesus Christ is only for Christians. No! The Creator cannot be for only Christians because He has told Christians to go and share the Gospel or Good News of Repentance and Salvation with every creature (Mark 16:15). God's perfect will is...

GOD IS NOT A MAN (2)

Dear friend, in the first part of this article, we discussed the impartiality of God, the fact that God created everyone equal, treats everyone equal and will judge everyone regardless of political, economic or social status by the same standard in His Holy Word found in the Holy Bible ALONE. In essence, God does not assess people the way humans do (Isaiah 55:8-9). In today's post, we look at another aspect of God to which we must pay careful attention. Our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ loves us so much that He wants everyone to have an intimate relationship with Him as our loving Father. In fact, it is this love that made God send His only begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the world to die once as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind and reconcile us back to God. This was necessary to destroy what satan or the devil had done at the beginning when he deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat the fruit God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat...

WE ARE LIVING IN THE END OF AGE TIMES

Matthew 24:36-39 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Dear people of God, Bible scholars believe it took Noah between 80 – 100 years to build the Ark God commanded (Gen. 5:32; 6;18; 7:1,6). The size of the Ark as God commanded was 300 cubits (138 metres) in length, 50 cubits (23 metres) in width and 30 cubits (14 metres) in height (Gen.6:15). In today’s comparison, that would be the length and width of a standard football pitch and height more than a 3-storey building. That was massive. Now with this in mind, you could be sure the people around must have flocked to Noah to ask questions as to wh...

GOD IS NOT A MAN

In human existence, society creates classes based on one's political, economic and social status. The wealthier you are, the more politically astute you are, the more accord and respect granted by members of the society. This is even so amongst blood relations - more regard and respect is usually given to those who are well off politically and financially. One consequence of such high regard for the well to do and well known, especially in most Africa societies is that they assume they can do things, especially wrong things, and get away with it. After all, it would take one phone call to one of their "connected" associates to get them off the hook for malfeasance. In western societies, you are only able to get away with malfeasance as a wealthy or political figure as long as the media has not heard of the matter, for once they do, justice must take its course. However, the course of justice is usually not followed rightly even in such societies ...
