GOD IS NOT A MAN (2)
Dear
friend, in the first part of this article, we discussed the impartiality of
God, the fact that God created everyone equal, treats everyone equal and will
judge everyone regardless of political, economic or social status by the same
standard in His Holy Word found in the Holy Bible ALONE.
In
essence, God does not assess people the way humans do (Isaiah 55:8-9).
In
today's post, we look at another aspect of God to which we must pay careful
attention. Our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ loves us so much that He
wants everyone to have an intimate relationship with Him as our loving Father.
In
fact, it is this love that made God send His only begotten Son, our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ to the world to die once as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind
and reconcile us back to God.
This
was necessary to destroy what satan or the devil had done at the beginning when
he deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat the fruit God commanded Adam and
Eve not to eat.
Eve
not only acceded to satan's deceit, she ate it and gave some to Adam who also
ate and then both died spiritually that instant.
Sin
and death thus entered the world by that singular act of rebellion against God,
heaven was shut against man and nobody qualified who died from Adam until when
Jesus died for mankind was able to enter heaven.
Now,
these days, some Christians tend to take their intimate relationship with God
for granted. What they would ordinarily not do or say in the presence of men
they say to God.
For
instance, when you hear some Christians pray and the way they insultingly
challenge and speak to God Almighty their Creator, you tend to wonder if they
really know and understand the Greatness of our God.
If
you cannot speak rudely to the President or Governor or Senator, how dare you
speak to God in rude tone in prayer? If you cannot challenge your employer who
wrongs you without caring a hoot, how dare you challenge the Almighty,
Righteous God who NEVER DOES WRONG?
God
can never do wrong because ALL He does is Holy and Righteous. God knows the end
from the beginning, He knows what will happen in the next 100 trillion years!!!
God
is Omnipotent (has unlimited power), Omnipresent (is everywhere) and Omniscient
(has unlimited knowledge).
If
you can just meditate and then comprehend the Greatness of God, you will
realise that this is one Being to be feared and accorded the utmost REVERENCE.
Therefore,
it is simply foolhardy for anyone to dare speak or challenge God on any matter.
God's unlimited power is such that if you are close to Him as He rightly
commands everyone, there is nothing you ask of Him that He cannot do.
God's
Word says in Hebrews 10:34-35, "Therefore
do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of
endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the
promise:"
God
always has a condition to bless anyone and the number one condition is that you
must be His child. How do you become God's child? It is written in John 1:12, "But as many as received Him (Jesus
Christ), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who
believe in His name:
Dear
friend, to qualify for God's enormous blessings, you must give your life to
Jesus Christ and believe Jesus died for your sins. Then you must obey God's
commands found in one ONLY place - the Holy Bible.
When
you do this, and study God's Word, you will then understand His love and
greatness and you will learn to humble yourself before Him.
It
is written in 1 Peter 5:6-7, “Therefore
humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due
time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
God's
Word also states in James 4:10 "Humble
yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."
Dear
friend, a humble person will never speak to His Creator in rude tones whilst
praying.
The
key to understanding this point is that what you cannot say to a very important
human personality, never say it to God who is a 100 trillion times more
important than that person!
God
is a Divine Personality!!
Therefore,
ask God in prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ to give you wisdom and grace to
always humble yourself before Him and guide you according to His Word that you
may receive His upliftment and blessings as He has promised.
May
the good Lord bless you, prosper you as you heed His Word today, act on it and
share with others in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Gabriel
Ama.
