THE RIGHT WAY TO PRAY (2)

John 15:7-8 (AMPC)   “If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My Words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.   8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”   Dear people of God, in the first part of this message, we showed how prayer is communication with Almighty God and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ and must therefore be done with all reverence due to Him.   We also saw that prayer to God as our Lord Jesus Christ stated must not involve too many long words like unbelievers engage in.   We showed that God’s face is inclined to the prayers of people who are righteous, that is, who are living an upright and obedient life to His commands.   We showed that prayer must be made in faith and according to the Word of God or the will of God, which is His Word. ...

GOD RESPONDS TO HIS WORD AND NOT TO LAMENTATION

One of the easiest things for a Christian to do is to begin to lament to God in prayer about his or her situation, whether financial, medical or whatever it is. There are many people who believe when they do this, God would respond to their cry for help. Unfortunately, there is nowhere in the Holy Bible where a Christian is directed to pray in this manner. Every human being born into this world comes in as a helpless baby requiring the support of a family – mother, father, older siblings, relatives, etc for nourishment, protection, cleaning, and everything required to make the baby comfortable. As the child grows, he is taught and learns to do some of these activities by himself until he becomes an adult when he can handle them seamlessly. This same process applies in Christianity. As a new born again child of God, there is little the person knows about spiritual things so the person depends on a spiritually mature Christian to study, understand and apply God’s W...

PRAYING FOR SOMETHING GOD’S WORD ALREADY PROVIDES AN ANSWER FOR

Sometimes as Christians, we wonder why God does not respond to our prayers on certain issues especially for matured Christians in the faith. One reason I have found out as God has shown me is that we pray for something God’s Word already tells us how to deal with. A typical example is when you pray to God to help you deal with sickness. God’s Word says in Matthew 8:17, “ And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself (Jesus Christ) took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses  and infirmities and bore away our diseases.”   This Scripture clearly tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ took away our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases. This Scripture applies to every Christian who lives in righteous obedience to God’s commandments in the Holy Bible. The Christian who understands this Scripture should just stand on the Truth of this Scripture, worship and thank God for it, agree with God and then command sicknes...
