THE INDIVIDUAL WHO IS ASSURED OF GOD’S BLESSINGS

2 Kings 18:5-7a (AMPC) “ He (Hezekiah) trusted in the  Lord  God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.    6 For he held fast to the  Lord ; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the  Lord  had commanded Moses.  7 The  Lord  was with him; he prospered wherever he went.”   Dear people of God, today’s reference Holy Bible text is about king Hezekiah of Judah described as completely loyal to God and His commands and he never deviated from following God amongst all the kings of Judah either before or after him.   Consequently, the Bible records that God was with him and he prospered wherever he went.    It is this same God I am writing about today.    God’s principles are the same and never changes because He is Holy, Just and Righteous.    There are many people who claim to be following...

RIGHTEOUSNESS ACCORDING TO GOD

Romans 4:3 (AMPC) “For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed in (trusted in) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness (right living and right standing with God). [Gen. 15:6.]”   Dear people of God, what does righteousness mean? According to the online dictionary, righteousness means the quality of being morally right or justifiable.   In religious circles, righteousness is also defined as right standing with God or the condition of being in a right relationship with God.   According to the Holy Bible, Abraham believed in or trusted in God and it was credited to his account as righteousness.   For what reasons did Abraham believe in God?   (1) Abraham believed God about a revelation of being the One and only True God with whom he should have a relationship with a promise of great blessing contrary to the idolatry his ancestors practised – Joshua 24:2; Genesis 17:1-2   (2) Abraham believed God about a promise of making him a father o...

WALKING BY FAITH

2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMPC) " For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.”   Dear people of God, there is a popular saying that “seeing is believing” and many choose this statement without realizing that it means walking by sight.   As Christians, we are called to walk by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross of Calvary for us.   God has made it clear that nobody can please Him except the person walks by faith in Him, believes He exists and is a rewarder of anyone who diligently seeks Him – Hebrews 11:6.   It is when we diligently seek God by faith that we would become more intimately aware of His great power and how to appropriate it in our daily lives for our spiritual and material benefits.   Speaking about our Messiah Jesus Christ, we are told in 1 Peter 1...

THE BIBLE IS GOD SPEAKING TO ME

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMPC)   “ Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action),   17 So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work”     Dear people of God, there are Christians who want God to speak to them on certain issues they need answers to.   I have had cases where while discussing on sensitive issues as it affects people and concerns God’s commandment, the listener said he or she wanted to first hear from God.   Well, today’s topic is a phrase I heard from the late Prophet/Evangelist Kenneth E. Hagin and it is very true that the Bible is God speaking to me and anyone else who cares to know.   What many Christians need ...

CHRISTIAN BELIEVER, YOU ARE YOUR OWN PROBLEM

Romans 5:17 (AMPC)   “ For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”     Dear people of God, many Christians today believe the devil is their problem. No doubt the devil as the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) places obstacles in the paths of everyone and PARTICULARLY Christians to frustrate them, make them doubt God, become offended at God and risk eternity in HELL.   However, what does God’s Word say to Christians about the devil? Let us examine Colossians 1:13-14 (AMPC), “ [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,   14 In Whom we...

ALWAYS PUT GOD’S WORD FIRST IN EVERYTHING

God has told us NOT to live by bread alone but by every Word He has spoken – Deuteronomy 8:3b; Matthew 4:4. In other words, a human being should live, be upheld and sustained by God’s Word as the Amplified version of the Holy Bible puts it. As Christians, it is so easy to miss this very important point in our relationship with God as our Father especially in times of difficulties. You find many people who look in every direction except the Word of God for solution to their problems. They tell themselves that after all, their past experience has shown that when they prayed to God, He did not answer so why bother Him? Dear friend, this is the very position the devil wants every child of God to reach, which is to rely on your own strength, advice and understanding as against the infallible Word of God. As our Father God loves us so much and has made it clear that His thoughts and plans for us is of good and not of evil, to bring to an expected end – Jeremiah 29:11 (...
