SPIRITUAL WARFARE

The devil knows that the Christian is the only person qualified to enter Heaven. Please note that I am NOT referring to the person who claims Christianity by word of profession but whose lifestyle contradicts God’s written Word in the Holy Bible. Such a person makes satan very excited because he is already in satan’s camp even when he claims Christianity. The Christian I am referring to is the individual who fears God, respects humans and is genuinely committed to the things of God by word, thought and deed. This is the person that is an arch-enemy of satan, demons and their human agents. As a result of this enmity, satan and his agents do everything possible to ensure the Christian dishonours God. As long as the Christian is in this world, satan cannot rest until the person exits this world at death. Sometimes, satan and his agents are able to get rid of the person before his or her God-ordained time here on earth. They do this through sickness. As long as the ...

CARELESS TALK

On Thursday June 21, 2018, an elderly friend of mine came visiting in the office. He started his conversation by complaining about the economic situation in the country. I immediately but politely countered his comments to make him change his mind about the comments. He then retracted his comments and spoke in favourable terms concerning himself. However, he also told me he knew what my reaction would be but at times it was the reality of the country’s economy that makes him say those things. I then reminded him that according to God’s Word in Matthew 9:29, it is unto us according to our faith. It then dawned on him that I would stand my ground over the matter and so he accepted and we then went on to discuss other issues for which he came to see me. Dear friend, from God’s Word and by the grace of God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I have learned to guard my speech and not to speak negative things concerning myself in any situation. ...

A CHRISTIAN HAS NO BUSINESS WITH SICKNESS

1 Peter 2:24 “He (Jesus Christ) personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. ” Dear people of God, whenever I make the statement that is the topic of today’s message, people are always surprised Christians inclusive. I don’t blame them because I was once like that until the Lord made me know my rights as a Christian. The general belief amongst people is that sickness is a normal part of life. Most people, Christians inclusive, believe it is normal for a child to be sick because children play a lot, pick things and put in their mouths. They believe the body is like a machine that needs routine service and so sickness once in a while is not out of place. Majority of people also believe as one gets older, the body slows down, loses its active function, sickness comes and then the person dies from sickness. It ...

CHEATING IN BUSINESS

Dear friends, there is a common phrase some people who profess Christianity use, which is, “business is business and church is church and you cannot mix the two together.” Those who use such phrase assume that one is permitted to be a Christian and is also allowed to cheat others in business because there is no perfect person anywhere. As a result, they are saints in Church on Sundays and devils on the other days in their places of work or business. They simply do not care whether they hurt others with their lies and gimmicks in the course of running business. For them, the end justifies the means, regardless of what the means is. No wonder such people argue when called upon to pay tithes because they are used to cheating humans so cheating God makes little or no meaning to them. They are quick to give excuses as to why they should not pay tithes. They claim that such monies should be given to the poor and needy in the society because the pastor would misuse the mone...

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR RAISING A GODLY FAMILY

Proverbs 3:1-2 “ MY SON, forget not my law  or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; 2 For length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquillity [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death], these shall they add to you.” Dear people of God, in today’s egalitarian society, it could be quite a challenge raising a godly family. However, today’s lead Holy Bible text gives us an idea of how to address this issue, which is the basis for today’s post. We will consider a number of very important tips any parent can use to ensure the family remains in the fear and love of God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: (1)         First things first, parents must live and show example of godliness to the entire family everywhere and every time. You cannot issue one set of rules for yourself and another set of rules for your kids. This would only cause confusion in their ...
