3 John 1:2 (AMPC) “ Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.”   Dear people of God, poverty is not an excuse to be dishonest because God has promised spiritual, financial, and material prosperity to all His children in His Word in today’s main Scripture reading.   Take note that there are conditions for every child of God to prosper, which is that you believe what God has stated by acting in faith in giving to the work of the Gospel as we saw in the first part of this post.   Consequently, God would not suspend this condition because of your poverty. Rather, He expects that you would believe His Word and do exactly what it says to get the exact same result He has promised.   It is therefore inexcusable for any genuine Christian to claim poverty as a reason not to pay tithe – 10% of your income as a salary earner or 10% of your profit as a businessperson or 10% of mon...

A MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS WHO REFUSE TO PAY TITHES

Malachi 3:8-9 “Will a man rob  or defraud God? Yet you rob  and defraud Me. But you say, In what way do we rob  or defraud You? [You have withheld your] tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with the curse, for you are robbing Me, even this whole nation. [Lev. 26:14-17.]” Dear people of God, before the current coronavirus or covid-19 pandemic, there were those Christians who had all manner of excuses not to pay their tithes even when they earned a genuine living. Some said they would rather give the 10% of their LEGITIMATE income that belongs to God to the poor because the Church and Pastor do not need it. When you ask them what they would do with the remaining 90% of their income, they have absolutely nothing meaningful to say but continue to justify why they should disobey God on the 10% of their income from salary and business profit and financial gifts God has said should be given to the Church for the work of the Gospel.
