Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (AMPC) “ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might.   6 And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be [first] in your [own] minds and hearts; [then]   7 You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and] hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.   8 And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets (forehead bands) between your eyes.   9 And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”     Dear people of God, a friend of mine told me recently how someone he knew travelled to a European country to survey their schools there because he wanted to send his child over there for high school...

 Proverbs 22:15  “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.” Dear people of God, the Word of God speaks about events of the last days and how people would behave in many verses one of which is 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Having described the characters of such people, verse 5 ends with an admonition that we should avoid such persons. This admonition appears to be falling on deaf ears the world over when we observe the behaviour of our youth of today. Rather than take the advice, they are exhibiting the very characteristics the Bible warns against. Here in Nigeria, a country where churches are springing up and many display religion, it does appear nothing much has changed in the behaviour of the youth.
