THE RIGHT BOOK(S) TO STUDY ON RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

2 Timothy 2:15-18 (AMPC) 15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. 16 But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. 17 And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some." Dear people of God, just last Saturday January 5, 2019, my spouse and I went on Evangelism and we encountered a man who introduced himself as “a student of the Bible.” We later discovered the man does not attend Church but has been making a study of the Holy Bible. The man initially collected the tract I handed him, read a bit of i...

THE INDIVIDUAL WHO IS ASSURED OF GOD’S BLESSINGS

2 Kings 18:5-7a (AMPC) “ He (Hezekiah) trusted in the  Lord  God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.    6 For he held fast to the  Lord ; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the  Lord  had commanded Moses.  7 The  Lord  was with him; he prospered wherever he went.”   Dear people of God, today’s reference Holy Bible text is about king Hezekiah of Judah described as completely loyal to God and His commands and he never deviated from following God amongst all the kings of Judah either before or after him.   Consequently, the Bible records that God was with him and he prospered wherever he went.    It is this same God I am writing about today.    God’s principles are the same and never changes because He is Holy, Just and Righteous.    There are many people who claim to be following...

WOULD JESUS CHRIST APPROVE OF YOUR ACTION?

Acts 26:17-18 (AMPC) “ 17 Choosing you out [selecting you for Myself]  and delivering you from among this [Jewish] people and the Gentiles to whom I am sending you – [Ezek. 2:1, 3.] 18 To open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Me. [Isa. 42:7, 16.] Dear people of God, the above Holy Bible text is the mandate the Lord Jesus Christ gave to Paul the Apostle. This mandate remains the same even today from Jesus Christ to all Christians, His followers, who are genuine and sincere in their pledge of loyalty with unfeigned obedience to His commands in the Holy Bible. The mandate is the same because God can never change His standard or reduce it for any reason or anyone – Malachi 3:6a; Hebrews 13:8. It is therefore expected that a committed follower...

YOU CANNOT BUY YOUR WAY INTO HEAVEN

Matthew 13:44-45 “The kingdom of heaven is like a [very precious] treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field [securing the treasure for himself]. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 and upon finding a single pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.” Dear people of God, it does appear today’s topic and the Holy Bible passages are contradictory but they are not. What the Lord Jesus Christ is talking about is the value one should place on Heaven above everything else in this world. Jesus is talking about doing all you can within God’s grace to ensure you enter heaven because there is a great and terrible cost for anyone who would miss heaven at the end of his or her stay here on earth. Not every person reading this message would take it serious and I can assure you that every person who has died in th...

WHOM YOU SHOULD FOLLOW

Romans 11:29 (AMPC) “ For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]” Dear people of God, I wish you the Happiest of New Years in 2020 in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen. As is usual with most of us, we would have reflected over 2019 and made some resolutions, goals and commitments for 2020. My simple advice to everyone reading this message today is that you include the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah and Master of the Universe in whatever plans you have for 2020. You must include Jesus Christ because He is the ONLY person Who would never mislead you because of His unfailing love for you as your Creator and God. You must therefore follow Him wholeheartedly by diligent study, meditation, obedience and action on His Word in the Holy Bible. When you do this, you can be sure that your every prayer would ...

GOD NEEDS YOUR CO-OPERATION, NOT YOUR HELP

When it comes to a Christian’s relationship with God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, it is important to distinguish between co-operating with God and helping God. When you co-operate with God, it simply means you obey His Word in the Holy Bible and do what He says. When you want to help God, it means you are not acting with His instruction and this could most certainly have catastrophic consequences. We see a typical example of this in Bible history with Abraham our Father in faith. At 75 years of age, God called him out of idolatry in his extended family and took him to another land to have a genuine spiritual relationship with God. At this time, Sarah, Abraham’s wife was 65 years and both of them were still in search of the fruit of the womb. God had promised to make Abraham not just a parent but a father of nations, which is why God changed his name from Abram to Abraham. 10 years after this promise, Sarah tried to help God achieve thi...
