YOU CANNOT BUY YOUR WAY INTO HEAVEN
“The kingdom of heaven is like a [very precious] treasure
hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and
sells all he has and buys that field [securing the treasure for himself].
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 and upon finding a single pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”
Dear people of God, it does appear today’s topic and the Holy Bible passages are contradictory but they are not.
What the Lord Jesus Christ is talking about is the value one should place on Heaven above everything else in this world.
Jesus is talking about doing all you can within God’s grace to ensure you enter heaven because there is a great and terrible cost for anyone who would miss heaven at the end of his or her stay here on earth.
Not every person reading this message would take it serious and I can assure you that every person who has died in this world and entered into eternal damnation in Hell fire understands just what I am stating here but it is too late for such individuals, unfortunately.
Just 2 days ago I saw a video clip of the American actor Denzel Washington who was talking about his encounter with the Holy Spirit and something that caught my attention was when he said his mother used to tell him that he does a lot of good things but he should understand that that was not enough and that he could never buy his way into heaven.
His mother told him that he knew what she was talking about and Denzel himself also admitted that he understood what his mother was saying.
Now, there are many people who believe that doing good ALONE in this world would qualify them for heaven. Such people are wrong and I will explain why.
Doing good in this world gives you benefits in heaven as every human being has an account in heaven.
For instance, when you pay your tithes to your local church, it is used for the work of the Gospel to take the message of Repentance and Salvation found only in Jesus Christ to lost souls who need to hear this all important message.
This is good work and when you pay tithes here on earth, your guardian angel (Matthew 18:10; Hebrews 1:14) takes the message to the angel that records it in heaven against you and then another angel working on your personal home in heaven continues to build the home for you – John 14:2-3.
Where fail to pay your tithe, no message is taken on your behalf to heaven and no work goes on in your home there.
Now, it is the same process whenever you help someone in any area of life that pleases God – financial help to poor and less privileged, prayer, winning souls through evangelism, godly counsel, contribution to Church projects whether financially or through labour, and so on and so forth.
All these are great works that please God and your heavenly reward continues to increase as you engage in them.
Now, that is as far as good works on this earth go for any person aspiring to enter heaven. For you to get these heavenly treasures you have built here on earth through good works, there is a GATE you must pass through to enter heaven.
To enter heaven, see what God says in Hosea 6:6 (AMP), “For I desire and delight in [steadfast] loyalty [faithfulness in the covenant relationship], rather than sacrifice,
And in the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
Are you living a genuine life as His disciple? Are you ready for Him? Come to Jesus today for tomorrow may be too late for you.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Precious Name, Amen.
