PROFESSING JESUS CHRIST ON EARTH WHILE HEADING FOR AN ETERNITY IN HELL

Galatians 6:7-8 (AMPC)

“Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

 

8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

 

Dear people of God, the Gospel of Christ Jesus is called Good News because it gives liberty to anyone who believes, accepts and does EXACTLY what it says.

 

The Gospel can also be a source of condemnation for anyone just as the Lord Jesus Christ warns in John 12:48 (AMPC), “Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, has his judge [however]; for the [very] message that I have spoken will itself judge and convict him at the last day.”

 

This preamble is necessary because there are some pastors whose actions are completely at variance with God’s Word and anyone who follows such pastor would end up like the pastor in eternal damnation.

 

Few days ago I read with sadness and disgust of a pastor in the South region of Nigeria who is reported to have taken his member’s spouse and went ahead to marry the woman.

 

This adulterous pastor is reported to have a wife and 4 kids of his whilst his adulterous partner has 2 kids from her marriage of 12 years with her husband.

 

According to the husband of the adulterous woman, she suddenly packed out of their home with their 2 kids and it was on social media he saw her “wedding” with their pastor.

 

According to the adulterous woman, her husband was fond of emotionally and physically abusing her and telling her that there was no marriage between them and that their kids were the only value she had for him.

 

She reported that her husband one day locked her in their home and left with the key. It was her kids who gave her the spare key she used in opening the door, then packed her belongings and left with the kids before her husband returned.

 

According to the adulterous pastor, the “holy spirit” told him the adulterous woman was his wife, which is why he married her.

 

According to the pastor’s son, he (father) and his mother are not yet divorced but are still in court and he (father) went ahead to marry another woman.

 

Dear friend, these are statements of humans that show they know nothing about God’s Word and God’s standards. They are just speaking their minds, which is very dangerous because God’s Word is the FINAL AUTHORITY on all issues of life including marriage.

 

So, what does God’s Word say about marriage?

 

(1) God does not permit divorce except for FORNICATION (immorality before the marriage is finalized and consummated) – Matthew 19:9a  (KJV)

 

(2) God hates divorce and marital separation – Malachi 2:16 (AMPC)

 

(3) Anyone who divorces his or her legally married spouse and marries another person commits adultery – Matthew 19:9b (KJV)

 

 

So for the pastor who is married, separates from his legally married spouse and joined himself in an illegal union to a married woman whilst claiming the Holy Spirt of God told him the married woman is his wife has told a lie against the Holy Spirit.

 

What a calamity.

 

What exactly does this man teach his congregation about God?

 

What a pity.

 

What about the members of the church who attended the illegal union, took photos and recorded the event using their phones? What about the pastor who joined the pastor and the married woman in an adulterous union?

 

I can tell you that everyone of them is as guilty as the adulterous pastor and the adulterous woman and they all share in their sin as far as God’s Word is concerned.

 

This is why you must be careful NOT to support or endorse or act in a manner that goes against God’s Righteous command on any matter whatsoever.

 

Even if you are not the one who did it, your support or endorsement or partaking in any such event confers the same guilt on you as the offending parties as far as God is concerned.

 

Before you begin to argue, may I remind you about the Bible book of Numbers 16:1-40 that records the fate of Korah, Dathan, Abiram and another 250 leaders of Israel who sinned against God by challenging the spiritual authority of Moses and Aaron appointed by God to serve Him as leaders of Israel.

 

God not only punished these men by opening up the earth to swallow them alive and fire consuming the 250 other leaders, but they also perished along with their entire households.

 

There is no record of their households (wives and children) offending God, but the righteous judgement of God befell them as well.

 

Does that make God an unrighteous judge? No, rather, it makes it clear that one must fear God and do what He has commanded in His Word otherwise, you can become a victim of His punishment over others when you tacitly or openly endorse their sinful actions.

 

Dear friend, fear God, study His Word in the Holy Bible and be a visible example of uncompromising obedience to God’s commands.

 

This adulterous pastor by his immoral actions has not only offended God but he has misled many spiritually blind members of his congregation who would see nothing wrong in divorce and re-marriage even when God hates and warns against such despicable behaviour.

 

You can even see from the report that this adulterous pastor’s son does not know that divorce is a sin before God talk less of re-marriage when one’s spouse is still alive.

 

The adulterous pastor MUST repent and reverse every one of his adulterous and immoral actions, openly apologize to his family, the church congregation, the husband of the adulterous woman otherwise he is professing Christ in vain and is destined for eternal damnation in HELL.

 

For the adulterous woman, she must also repent, confess her sins to God, her husband, the wife of the adulterous pastor and apologize to them, go back to her matrimonial home and settle her rift with her husband.

 

As for the husband of the adulterous woman, he has no choice but to forgive and receive his wife back otherwise God cannot forgive his own sins.

 

If the report of emotional and physical abuse against him is correct, he must repent, confess to God, ask for forgiveness from God and his wife and start behaving the way God has commanded that a man loves his wife as Christ loves the church.

 

For the wife of the adulterous pastor, nothing is said about her. She must however, forgive her pastor husband, receive him back and settle whatever misunderstanding they have.

 

For everyone else – minister and congregation who came to the event to celebrate sin, adultery and immorality, they must all repent, confess their sins to God and ask for His forgiveness before it is too late for them.

 

They must ensure never to partake in such immorality again for their own good.

 

This is how God expects everyone to behave. If you claim to be God’s child, you MUST obey His every command in the Holy Bible.

 

If you do otherwise, you are only rebelling against God and God views rebellion as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry. – 1 Samuel 15:22-23.

 

A Word is enough for the wise.
