HOW DO YOU DETERMINE GOD’S WILL ON ANY MATTER?
There are people who
pray to God on a matter and usually end it with the phrase, “please grant this
request if it is according to your will.”
Let us see what the Bible says in 1 John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.
15 And
if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we
also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our
present possessions] the requests made of Him.”
Drawing from this Scripture reference, we know for sure that God’s will is His own plan and that God would grant any prayer that is according to His will.
So is the person making a request to God and ending it with “please grant if according to your will” praying correctly?
If you pray 3 times a day as a I do most times, it means you pray about 1,095 times in a year.
If you end each and every prayer with the phrase “please grant if according to your will”, how many of those prayers are you sure are according to God’s will for Him to grant?
Can you just imagine how many millions and billions of Christians are praying the same way and ending it with the same phrase?
Would it not make sense and be an easier way out to first determine whether or not your request is according to God’s will so you are sure every prayer you ask of God gets an express answer?
This would surely reduce the frustrations many Christians experience with many unanswered prayers.
Dear friend, indeed there is an easy way out God has given us to know for certain what His will on any matter is even before we ask Him.
The right way to know whether or not a prayer request is according to God’s will is to first check God’s Word in the Holy Bible because God’s Word is His will and His plan for human beings as far as this world is concerned.
Unfortunately, not many Christians take time to study God’s Word before praying and they wonder why God does not answer them.
Let me give a typical example that many would be familiar with so the point is made very clear.
God’s Word tells us clearly in Matthew 8:17 (AMPC), “He Himself (Jesus Christ) took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.”
The Apostle Peter reiterates this same statement referencing the Prophet Isaiah and what had happened at the Cross of Calvary in 1 Peter 2:24b, “By His (Jesus’) wounds you have been healed.”
These Scriptures tell us clearly that Jesus Christ our Messiah and Lord at the Cross of Calvary when He died for our sins also took every sickness and disease that held us hostage before then.
The implication, dear friend, is that no sickness or disease should hold a child of God, a Christian, hostage no matter what name it bears because Jesus took it all away.
You must enforce your God-given victory over sicknesses and diseases by giving them a command to leave your body and life in the Name of Jesus Christ anytime they show up and then keep making that declaration and thanking God until the ailment’s departure is physically manifest in your life.
Now with this great information in hand, would it not be ignorant for a Christian who falls sick to ask God to heal him or her?
Would it also not be ignorant for the same Christian to also end the prayer using the phrase, “please grant if it is according to your will?”
Divine Health and Healing is God’s will for us Christians and every non-Christian unbeliever who believes the Gospel message of Repentance and Salvation found only in Jesus Christ, repents sincerely, confesses to God and forsakes sin, accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and lives a committed life of righteous obedience to God’s command in the Holy Bible.
It is therefore not necessary to pray to God to heal you or to do so if according to His will because His Word says it is His will for His children to walk in Divine Health and healing.
The right way to deal with the matter is to first thank God for His will for us to walk in Divine Health because His Word says so. Thereafter, give the sickness and disease by whatever name a command to leave your body and life in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and keep making this declaration until you see a physical manifestation of complete healing.
Of course the ailment leaves your body spiritually the very first time you have given the command in the Name of Jesus Christ. In some cases, the physical manifestation is instant but in some cases, the physical manifestation is gradual.
This is why I stated that you must continue to give the command daily until you see physically that the ailment has departed completely.
Dear friend, the lesson today is that before you make any request to God in prayer on any matter whatsoever, you must first determine whether or not the request is according to God’s will.
The way to know whether or not a request is according to God’s will is to go into the Word of God in the Bible to know what God says about that matter.
Once you have known what God says about the matter in His Word, then you can prayer according to God’s Word and you can then be sure that God would speedily grant your request because God watches over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12); His Word is His will and He is a righteous God Who can never lie concerning what He has said.
Now someone may ask, what if what I want to ask God cannot be found in the Bible? I will answer that that cannot happen because the Bible is complete for all seasons and generations and contains the answer to every situation we encounter in this life.
Before you make that request to God, just pray a simple prayer to Him asking Him to show you in His Word what He has said concerning your matter.
God would definitely show you because just an earthly father loves his children, God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ loves us so, so much and would answer the request so you can be sure of what He has said before you pray to Him concerning that very matter.
This is the very reason God says in Matthew 4:4 (AMPC), “Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every Word that comes forth from the mouth of God.”
Please don’t waste your own time praying a prayer that conflicts with God’s will and then turn round to say God does not answer prayers.
God only answers prayers that are according to His will or plan because He cannot violate His Word and His Word is His will or plan.
If God violates His Word by granting a prayer that is not according to His will or plan, that would make Him an unrighteous God and we know that God is righteous forever and ever and cannot change – Malachi 3:6a; Hebrews 13:8.
Jesus Christ is coming now to take only His ready children away. Are you ready to receive Him?
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
