NEVER BECOME TIRED OF PREACHING THE GOSPEL
The individual who by
the Grace of Almighty God and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has
come to know and experience the saving grace found only in Jesus Christ has a
serious obligation to tell others about Jesus Christ.
It is not just the duty
of the church overseer, pastor, reverend father or reverend alone to share God’s
Word with others.
See what Jesus says in Mark 16:15-16 (AMPC), “Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the
Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].
16 He
who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him
Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal
death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and
rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned.”
If this command was only
for the Apostles of Jesus Christ, then the Gospel would have ended with them
but it was a command to every generation of Believes including us who are alive
and reading this message.
At times, one could be
discouraged about preaching the Gospel when faced with the pressures of life
(financial, health, conjugal, etc) or even rejection by those who refuse to
accept the Gospel that is meant to set them free from the devil’s power over
them.
However, let us remember
the verses of the Holy Bible in Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC), “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it
active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged
sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the
immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our
nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
This means when the
Gospel is preached, it begins to work in the life of the hearer (even when it
appears the person has rejected it) because God’s Word is active and alive.
Therefore, never get
tired of preaching the Gospel whether you feel like it or not.
In fact, whenever you
feel discouraged as a result of our human nature with its weaknesses, just call
on God in prayer to strengthen you by His Holy Spirit so you can continue and
you can be sure that He would.
Always remember the Scripture in 2 Timothy 4:1-2
(AMPC), “I CHARGE [you] in the presence
of God and of Christ Jesus, Who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (in
the light of) His coming and His kingdom:
2 Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense
of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to
be favourable or unfavourable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient,
whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show
people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being
unflagging and inexhaustible
in patience and teaching.”
May the good Lord bless
you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most
Powerful Name, Amen.
