“And my speech and my
preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5
that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of
God.”
Dear people of God, the online dictionary defines the word
“reason” as a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.
“Reason” is also defined as the power of the mind to think, understand,
and form judgements logically.
According to wikipedia, Reasoning is associated
with the acts of thinking and cognition, and involves using one's
intellect. The field of logic studies the ways in which humans can use formal
reasoning to produce logically valid arguments.
The word “Faith” is defined online as a strong belief in the
doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.
In God’s Word in Hebrews 11:1 (GNBDK) in the Holy Bible, the
word “Faith” is defined as “to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain
of the things we cannot see.”
When you go into God’s Word in the Holy Bible, you see how God
made the Red Sea divide into two from top to bottom and each part stood as a
wall on either side of a dry ground for the Israelites to walk across the dry
ground – Exodus 14:21-22.
To give perspective of this great phenomena, the Red Sea has an
average depth of 390metres (1,610feet) and a maximum depth of 3,040 metres
(9,970 feet) from top to bottom.
Given the earlier definitions of reason and reasoning above, can
you explain how the water was able to stand like a wall on either side? Are
there any known human laws to understand or explain this?
Certainly not!
What about the water the Lord Jesus Christ changed to wine (John
2:7-11)? What about Jesus Christ walking on water (Matthew 14:25-32)? What
about the miracles of feeding over 5,000 (Luke 9:12-17) and over 4,000 humans (Matthew
15:32-39) from a few loaves of bread and a few fish?
Can you explain by reason how these happened?
No, you cannot, but we know that it all happened by faith in
God’s ability to do miracles. It is obvious that we cannot understand or
explain things that happen by faith using human reason.
It is therefore of wonder how anyone, especially a professed
Christian, would argue that we should not suspend our sense of reasoning when
we say things concerning faith in God to do miracles.
Recently, I had cause to ask a colleague if God could do all
things and he responded in affirmation. I then asked him if God could change a
person’s genotype from SS to AA and he said God could do all things.
I told him that he did not answer the exact question I asked him
and after asking him two or three more times if God could change a person’s
genotype from SS to AA, he then said no.
From his response, it is obvious there is a limit to what he
knows about God.
Unfortunately, there are many Christians who also have this same
problem and limit God in their daily lives and hinder themselves from receiving
the blessings God has given to all His children.
Drawing from this limitation and consequent hindrance to their
lives, these same individuals are quick to engage in wrongdoing and compromise to
offend God all in a bid to earn a living because they think God understands
their situation and would tolerate their sin.
No, no and no!
God would never tolerate sin from His child or anyone else
because He is a Holy God and a Righteous Judge Whose character never changes –
Malachi 3:6a; Hebrews 13:8.
The blessings God has granted to His children are clearly spelt
out in His Word. The conditions to access these blessings are also stated
clearly in His Word.
You just must manifest faith in God, believing that what He has
said in His Word in the Holy Bible is final and forever settled in heaven
(Psalm 119:89), thanking Him for it and confessing it as your Divine right in
the Name of Jesus Christ.
Then it becomes yours because your faith in God’s Word and
action on same is consistent with His will for your life.
When you limit God by doubt and unbelief, you only suffer
avoidable hardships the devil throws at you but that remains until you end it
by faith in God in your thoughts, words and deeds.
Jesus’ coming for His children in the
Rapture is imminent. Are you His child or are you born again? Are you ready for
Him?
Come to Jesus Christ the Word of God
today and now, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.
May the good Lord bless you as you
heed His Word today, act on it and share with
others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name,
Amen.
