GOD REMEMBERS HIS COVENANTS
The Word of God tells us in Psalm 105:8, “He (God) is [earnestly] mindful of His covenant and forever it is imprinted on His
heart, the Word which He commanded and
established to a thousand generations,”
This is the same God Who spoke the
Universe into existence by His spoken Word – Psalm 33:6; Hebrews 11:3; 2 Peter
3:5.
The greatest covenant God entered
into with mankind is in Genesis 3:15 when He promised to send a Saviour into
the world to redeem mankind from sin and separation from God caused by
disobedience to God’s commandments through satan’s deceit.
Adam and Eve were the ones who
committed this sin but being parents of all mankind (Acts 17:26), the
devastating effects of that sin (death, pain, evil and all manner of suffering)
has spread to all mankind.
God fulfilled the demands of that
covenant of mankind’s redemption when His only Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ came into this world as a human being and at the hands of the Romans and
Jews suffered a harrowing torture and eventual death on the Cross of Calvary.
God did this because of His
immense love for mankind.
It took almost 2,000 years for
this covenant to be fulfilled but God never forgot it because throughout
history, He kept on talking about it to His people until it came to fruition.
Someone might ask, why did it take
God so long to fulfil this covenant of redemption of mankind?
The Bible tells us in Psalm 90:4
and 2 Peter 3:8 that in God’s sight a thousand years are like a day here on
earth.
Remember that God dwells and
operates in eternity, which is where every human being enters at death and goes
to one of two places – heaven or hell. So God does not count the way we do even
though He is the Owner of everything.
The most important thing to
remember is that God keeps His covenant.
Another significant thing to
remember is the greatest covenant God fulfilled through the Lord Jesus Christ.
In His Word in the Holy Bible,
there are many covenants God has entered into with His children, that is, those
who belong to Christ by faith in what He did.
You can only claim your portion by
obeying the righteous demands of those covenants and the inherent immense blessings
would automatically be yours.
This is why you must study His Word
in the Holy Bible to know what is yours by right as a child of God.
At the end of your stay here on
earth, you can only reach God when you understand, believe and accept the truth
of this greatest covenant God fulfiled in Christ.
Not only must you accept it, but
you must practise what it says, which is that whoever loves God obeys His
commandments.
Do you love God dear friend? If yes,
then you must obey His commandments in the Holy Bible.
Do not turn right or left to go
after other gods that would distract and deceive you.
Only Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth
and the Life and only Jesus Christ can lead you in the right direction that
would land you eventually in eternity in heaven.
Come to Jesus today and now, for
tomorrow may be too late.
