ONLY ONE THING IS REQUIRED FOR ALL HUMANS (3)
Dear people of God, in
the last 2 weeks, we have examined this topic whilst looking at two major
issues, how it is that in a bid to resolve their problems, people ignorantly pursue
their own wrong choices rather than focus on the Word of God, the solution to
every problem.
Last week, we examined
the challenge with chasing alcohol as a temporary solution to one’s problems
and we saw from God’s Word the danger with using alcohol.
Today, we will look at
another common wrong solution people use today as a way out of their problems,
which is harlotry.
What is harlotry? The dictionary
defines harlotry simply as offering sexual intercourse for pay.
Though some men are into
this ungodly practice, it is usually done mostly by women who are trying to
raise money to pay their bills.
They offer themselves to
everyone and anyone available who would pay for this.
These days, they go as
far as advertising their bodies on social media, publishing semi-nude and
sometimes nude photographs of themselves all in a bid to solicit for clients.
This is what the Word of God says concerning
harlotry in Hosea 4:11-12, “Harlotry and
wine and new wine take away the heart and the mind and the
spiritual understanding.
12 My
people [habitually] ask counsel of their [senseless] wood [idols], and their
staff [of wood] gives them oracles and
instructs them. For the spirit of harlotry has led them astray and they
have played the harlot, withdrawing themselves from subjection to their God.”
The Lord made it clear
that harlotry and wine and new wine take away the heart and mind and spiritual
understanding.
He further tells His
people that they have allowed the spirit of harlotry, with origin from satan, turn
them to worthless idols to be led astray rather than subject themselves to the
Lord God of Heaven, the Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Prostituting yourselves
for a few bucks here and there cannot solve your financial problems whether in
the short, medium or long term in this life.
When you become old,
those you give your bodies to would abandon you for younger people who are also
led astray by the devil into prostitution or harlotry.
So what would become of
you at that time? How do you intend to raise the money then with which to pay
your bills while alive?
Even more dangerous is
the fact that you could contract a venereal disease (e.g., Chlamydia, Genital
Herpes, Gonorrhea, HPV, Syphilis, Trichomoniasis, etc) and an incurable one at
that, either the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or the Acquired Immune
Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), which would eventually kill you and sentence you to
an eternal damnation in HELL.
There is also a strong
possibility of you dying in an accident or some other means even before you get
old.
All in all, you are
living a very dangerous life if you are presently engaged in harlotry as a means
of raising money to solve your financial problems.
This is not a solution
at all, dear friend. A real solution is what I am discussing here in this post,
which is, that you only need just One Resource, the infallible Word of God.
You cannot go wrong with
the Word of God. It contains the information you would ever need to SUCCESSFULLY
navigate through the many challenges of this fallen world caused by sin and
disobedience to God’s commandments.
Jesus Christ is the Word
of God. No matter how far you think or believe you have gone in your current
lifestyle of sin through alcohol and harlotry, Jesus is ever ready to take you
back when you make up your mind to return to Him.
As His Word says in
Romans 10:13, “For everyone who calls
upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved. [Joel 2:32.]”
As you can see from this
Scripture, it says everyone, and everyone includes you reading this, no matter
what your present lifestyle is.
Jesus will not force you
to come to Him but He would only persuade you using means such as the one I am
using now, the Gospel message of Repentance and Salvation found only in Him.
Jesus He loves you with
an everlasting love because He is your Father and Creator BUT He hates sin and
would not tolerate any of His children engaging in such despicable lifestyle.
I urge you to make up
your mind today and now, to leave harlotry and come to Jesus Christ the
Messiah, Who ALONE can and will provide ALL your genuine and righteous needs
because He has unlimited resources to get this done and nothing is impossible with
Him – Luke 1:37.
Come now, dear friend to
Jesus Christ the Word of God, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.
May the good Lord bless
you as you heed His Word this day, meditate and act on it and share with others
in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.
