SUBTLE EVIL INFLUENCES
The devil is using subtle evil influences these days
to deceive children and even their parents.
I will give an example to buttress my point.
Only recently my spouse told me of a child she saw
with a funny looking wrist band and when she questioned the child on why she
was wearing it, the innocent child said it was her cousin who gave it to her
and that when the band is spoken to, it would grant the wish requested.
My spouse then told the child that it is only Jesus
that answers prayers and that she should only pray to Jesus and no one or
nothing else.
My spouse made up her mind to investigate the matter.
When she saw the cousin in question, she was also
wearing a similar wrist band and when queried, the child also said it was a good
luck band which, when spoken to would grant the wish requested.
When queried where she got the idea, she said it was
from a book her parents gave her.
Fortunately, the first child mentioned above was also
there and immediately she recalled what my spouse had told her, she told the
cousin in very clear terms that it was Jesus alone we should pray to.
In fact she was no longer wearing her wrist band since
the truth had been told her.
Thank God she remembered and thank God she told her
cousin the truth.
These children are aged 5 or 6 at the most.
My spouse then went to meet the mother of the child
who started all this and saw the mother wearing a similar wrist band made for
her by the same child.
All the mother could say was that there was nothing
significant about the wrist band and that it was just a band.
My spouse took time to explain to her the
implications. Whether she took it or not is left to her.
Dear friend, can you see the way satan is capturing
innocent young minds and subtly introducing them into idolatry?
Can you also see how an ignorant mother allowed it
without realizing the implications?
In case you never knew, dear friend, anything that
takes the place of God in one’s life is an idol.
I can just imagine how many other innocent children
around the world have been deceived by the same book and whose ignorant parents
have allowed satan to subtly introduce idolatry into their children’s lives and
their homes by extension!
There is a spiritual implication to this and unless
you resist it in the name of Jesus, what would happen is that satan would take
over and the child would start manifesting demonic signs while the ignorant
parents would be wondering what is going on or how it started.
This is just one example. There are so many other means
satan is using to capture the minds of innocent young children introducing them
into idolatry, witchcraft, rebellion, etc.
The violent movies, violent video games, books on
immorality, etc are all means by which satan is operating so parents must be
very vigilant to know what they are exposing their kids to and who their
friends are.
The times are evil and a Christian must ensure to
study the Bible, and teach the truth of God’s Word therein to their children
and grandchildren and ensure it passes from generation to generation.
The Holy Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be well balanced (temperate, sober
of mind), be vigilant and cautious
at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion
roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.”
So what does the Christian do? We are
told in James 4:7, “So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against
him], and he will flee from you.”
When you resist satan, he will flee from you in terror.
The way to resist satan and his agents is to study God’s Word in the Holy
Bible, know what it says and ensure to sincerely obey all God’s commands.
Then you stand using God’s Word against the devil and
his agents in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and they will flee from you.
James 4:8a says, “Come
close to God and He will come close to you.”
Ensure to develop a sincere personal relationship with
Jesus and He will show you things and give you grace to help you overcome evil
influences of any kind.
