Dear friend, God has made it clear in His Word in Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." Since this is the truth of God's Word, it should set the tone for today's post. When a Christian experiences a tragedy like losing a loved one to death, what sometimes sets in is despair on the part of the Christian. The person is unable to understand why God allowed it to happen. Tragedy can come in various forms to a Christian and it may not be because the person is a sinner or has offended God. Most genuine Christians are usually shocked by such occurrences because they are not prepared for it and some may even begin to question their faith in God or whether God exists at all. Dear friend, except for the Triune Godhead who is Creator, all other forms of existence in the universe are creatures! By Triune Godhead, I mean the Holy Trinity of God the Father, God the Son (our Lord Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit. Understand that there is ONLY one God but in 3 different Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is written in God's Word in 1 John 5:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has 3 attributes no other being has - He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. By Omnipotence, God has UNLIMITED power and ability to all things. God's says in Genesis 18:14a, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" The Angel Gabriel told the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was mother of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth, in Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing will be impossible.” Job recognised this fact when he rightly told God our Father in Job 42:2 “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You."   When God is called Omnipresent, it means He is everywhere at the same time. This is confirmed in Jeremiah 23:23-24 when God says “Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, and not a God afar off? Dear friend, there is a need to distinguish between enemies of God and human personal enemies. This is necessary because most Christians don't know the difference and so they do not know how to pray properly against enemies of God and to pray for their personal human enemies as Jesus Christ our Lord has commanded (Matthew 5:43-48). Anyone who TRIES to obstruct God's will, directive or plan automatically becomes God's enemy. Notice I used the word "tries" because there is absolutely no one that can successfully obstruct or hinder God from accomplishing His righteous purposes. All Authority and Power belongs to God Almighty and so it is futile to try to obstruct God's plan, will or directive.  The first and most known enemy of God is satan and demons. I have heard some people say their sin is so grave that they are sure God can never forgive them, ever! Wrong! As long as a human being exists on this earth, he or she ALWAYS has a chance at repentance and conversion to become a child of God through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is called the mercy of our God. Whether you are a rapist, murderer, ritualist, witch, wizard, occultist, magician, sorcerer, medium, necromancer, prostitute, arsonist, paedophile, human trafficker, sadist, homosexual, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, armed robber, abortionist, whatever you may think is the greatest sin you have ever committed, one thing I can assure you is that as long as you are not dead, you have a second chance to repent, confess your sins, accept Jesus Christ as Lord, make restitution and live a new life with firm resolution to follow Jesus Christ’s Word in the Holy Bible forever. Many times Christians are faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles in their lives and it does seem as though God has forgotten them. Prayers, fasting, petitions, vigils all go unanswered. These same people keep getting testimonies of God's intervention in other people's lives who have not fasted or prayed as hard as they have but God responded and granted their request. After a while, such Christians sink into despair, questioning God's Authority, Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Omniscience. In some cases, the person gives up on God completely because he or she feels God has given up on him or her or God simply does not care. Dear friend, today I came across a person who says he is a Christian but his understanding of Christianity and the Word of God leaves a lot to be desired. I came to a barbing saloon in my neighbourhood to have a haircut and while waiting my turn, I was sharing with one of the saloon workers my encounter with a lady I met minutes earlier at a fuel station who was trying to sell me audio CDs. I had told the lady I don't buy hip hop music and she said she also sold Gospel, to which I responded that I don't buy pirated CDs either.  The lady told me she did not sell pirated CDs and when I asked her the price, she told me an amount that made me know the CDs were pirated and I told her so. She then told me she sources her CDs from the same place with the people I buy from in shops and that their price was more expensive than hers. She further told me she was a Christian too and she was heaven bound. I never uttered a word again as she spoke and later walked away ...
