THE CHRISTIAN WHO WAS WILLING TO LEARN

Acts 18:24-26 (AMPC)   “ Meanwhile, there was a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, who came to Ephesus. He was a cultured and eloquent man, well versed and mighty in the Scriptures.   25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and burning with spiritual zeal, he spoke and taught diligently and accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he was acquainted only with the baptism of John.   26 He began to speak freely (fearlessly and boldly) in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him with them and expounded to him the way of God more definitely and accurately.   Dear people of God, every genuine Christian knows the Word of God in the Holy Bible is ABSOLUTE and without any error.   Just take a look at the description of the Jewish convert to Christianity named Apollos in today’s lead Holy Bible text.   In spite of his experience with the Word of God as we are told, there was still information he needed to have conc...

YOU MUST HONOUR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER

Ephesians 6:1-3 (AMPC)   “ CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord [as His representatives], for this is just and right.   2 Honour (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother – this is the first commandment with a promise – [ Exodus 20:12.]   3 That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”     Dear people of God, there are many Christians who do not understand the import of God’s Word and the power and consequence therein, not until the Holy Spirit or someone inspired by God’s Spirit explains it to them.   Today Holy Bible text is one of such messages.   It tells us that our parents are God’s representatives on this earth and so we MUST obey them.   It further tells us to honour our father and mother and there is a promise attached, which is, that ALL may be well with us and that we may live long on the earth.   Now consider this, what do you think is the consequence for any child who refuses to obey...

THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED

Isaiah 57:20-21 (AMPC) “ But the wicked are like the troubled sea, for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.   21 There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.”   Dear people of God, events of late October of the year 2020 in the Nation of Nigeria in West Africa were been both pathetic and unfortunate.   For the first time in this nation’s history, a group of young men and women took to the streets to protest against years of police brutality at the hands of a now defunct unit called the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).   Even though this police unit was created in 1992 to deal with crimes associated with robbery , motor vehicle theft, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and firearms, over the years, it became a law unto itself molesting, arresting, framing up, extorting and killing innocent victims, mostly the youth in the prime of their lives.   This ungodly act continued until the recent protests in which the government of the day took a swift de...

ALL YOU HAVE BELONGS TO GOD

Psalm 24:1 (AMP) “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness of it, the world, and those who dwell in it.”   Dear friend, there are people who grumble when called upon to give to God’s work for the advancement of His Kingdom on earth. Giving is usually in 4 categories:   (1) Tithes - 10% of your monthly income as a salary earner or 10% of your profit as a business person.   (2)   Firstfruits - the difference between your previous income and new income as a salary earner or the first profit of any new business as a business owner. Profit is the surplus that remains after you have deducted all expenses from sales.   (3)   Offerings - money given in church whenever you attend fellowship.   (4)   Contributions to Kingdom projects - personal contribution to any church project.   The reason people grumble when called to give is because they assume they own the money, worked hard for it and therefore should not be compelled to give. ...

DON’T PRAY YOURSELF INTO ETERNAL DAMNATION IN HELL

Luke 9:51-56 (AMPC) “ Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him (Jesus Christ) to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,     52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.    53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.    54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”   55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of S pirit you are of.    56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. ” And they went to another village.”   Dear people of God, let me give you a little background into today’s lead Holy Bible text.   When Solomon, Israel’s third king sinned against God through idolatry, God took away t...
