DISCRIMINATION IS A SIN AGAINST GOD
When God the Father created
mankind, He said as recorded in His Word in the Holy Bible in Genesis 1:26-27, “And now we will make human beings; they
will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds,
and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small.” So God created human
beings, making them to be like Himself. He created them male and female.”
Nowhere is it recorded in
Sacred Scriptures that one race, tribe or ethnicity is superior to another. However,
human beings on their own have introduced discrimination of various kinds and
caused untold hardship to their fellow human beings.
What is even all the more sad
is the fact that even among some who claim to be Christians, they practice
discrimination of various kinds. God created every one equal so there is
absolutely no reason for anyone to believe he or she is superior to another
person, gender or race except if it is to do the bidding of lucifer or satan
the father and author of wickedness and confusion.
The call to Christianity is a
call to love because God is love. We are told in 1 John 4:19-21, “We love because God first loved us. If someone
says He loves God, but hates his brother, he is a liar. For he cannot love God,
whom he has not seen, if he does not love his brother, whom he has seen. The command
that Christ has given us is this: whoever loves God must love his brother also.”
It is pertinent to remind
ourselves here that the Lord Jesus Christ came to die for the sins of ALL of
mankind caused by the disobedience of Adam and Eve at the beginning. Contrary to
what some people think, Jesus Christ did not come to die for only the Jews but
for everyone so that mankind could be reconciled to God and heaven could be
opened again for those who qualify to enter when they depart this world.
It is written in 1 John 3:8, “Whoever continues to sin belongs to the
devil, because the devil sinned from the very beginning. The Son of God (our
Lord Jesus Christ) appeared for this very reason, to destroy what the devil had
done.”
It is written in John
3:16-17, “For God loved the WORLD so much
that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but
have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to be its judge,
but to be its Saviour.”
So it is obvious that God
loved the world, not just our Jewish brethren when He sent His Son Jesus Christ
to die for the sins of mankind. That is the demonstration of God’s love for us
and God expects us to reciprocate this love in our relationships with EVERYONE,
regardless of race, skin colour, social or political affiliation or status,
financial status, etc.
In responding to a Pharisee’s
question on the most important commandments of God, Jesus said in Mark 12:31, “The second most important commandment is
this: ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’ Of course, the first most
important commandment is to love God above everything with all our heart, mind
and soul.
Paul tells the Galatians in
Galatians 3:28, “So there is no
difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between
men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus.”
Paul further states in
Galatians 5:14 - 15, “For the whole law
is summed up in one commandment: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.”
But if you act like wild animals, hurting and harming each other, then watch
out, or you will completely destroy one another.”
It is written in the Letter
from James 2:8-9, “You will be doing the
right thing if you obey the law of the Kingdom, which is found in the
Scripture, “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” But if you treat people
according to their outward appearance, you are guilty of sin, and the Law
condemns you as a lawbreaker.
Whoever
breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking them all. For the same one who
said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said “Do not commit murder.” Even if you
do not commit adultery, you have become a lawbreaker if you commit murder. Speak
and act as people who will be judged by the law that sets us free.
For
God will not show mercy when He judges the person who has not been merciful;
but mercy triumphs over judgement.”
The Lord Jesus says in
Matthew 7:12, “Do for others what you
want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the
teachings of the prophets.”
He also says in Matthew 5:44 -
45a “But I tell you: love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may become the children of
your Father in heaven.”
Dear friend, you have seen
the number of quoted Scriptures that emphasizes the need for us to love and
live in peace with our neighbours. Some may want to ask who a neighbour is. The
Lord Jesus Christ answered the question in His parable of the Good Samaritan
(Luke 10:25-37).
Our neighbour is simply any
human being we come across whether we have reason or not to interact with the
person.
Having said that and having
seen all these Scripture passages, are you not baffled at the level of
discrimination that goes on in the world today? If the Word of God tells us
that discrimination is a sin and we know that sinners will end up in hell fire
for eternity if they die unrepentant, should that not be a reason for us to
examine our lives and relationships with others and make SINCERE and necessary
amends as appropriate?
If as you read this you still
believe you are superior to anyone because of what you have or who you are in
society, remember that it is God who determines everything at the end of the
day. He alone is the author and finisher of our faith and His commands ALONE
will forever stand.
If God has said we should not
do something or tells us what to do as His Word, the Holy Bible states, it is
in our own interest to simply obey without question because God is our Creator
and owns everything in the entire Universe, and has the last say in everything.
His Word is Law.
This post is for all those
who discriminate against others for whatever reason:
(1) The Indian Caste System.
(2) The Practice of Osu in South
Eastern Nigeria.
(3) Discrimination of any kind against
women, putting them down as inferior beings.
(4) Sexual discrimination and
acts of violence against women and girls.
(5) Slave trade wherever it is
still being practised.
(6) Human trafficking as practised
in various parts of the world today.
(7) Racial discrimination that makes
some people believe their race or skin colour is superior to another race or
skin colour and therefore treat people on this basis.
(8) Discrimination against people
at social, political, religious or whatever gathering on the basis of financial
status.
(9) Discrimination in the office
against employees especially when it comes to rewarding staff or subordinates.
(10) Discrimination in the home whether it be
against your spouse, children, relatives, in-laws, etc
(11) Discrimination
in a court of law against someone of lower financial or social status
Dear friend,
if you claim to be a Christian and you practice any kind of the aforementioned
discrimination and still have an excuse for doing so, the Lord Jesus Christ is
calling you today to come out of it for your own good as the end, if one dies
in such practice, is ETERNAL damnation in hell fire where satan will torture
such person.
Jesus
Christ never practised discrimination and calls us to follow His example of
unconditional love for mankind by showing love to all without discrimination.
If you
are NOT a Christian reading this, the Lord Jesus Christ is also calling you to
repent sincerely and turn to Him.
As you
read this today, please do not harden your heart against this message because
tomorrow may be too late. Repent of sin, accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour
of your life and ask God to send His Holy Spirit to lead you to the truth about
Him. This is the ONLY guarantee to enter heaven once we depart this world.
God bless
you today as you read and heed His Word, accept, act on it and share with
others in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Gabriel
Ama.
