WHAT OTHER MIRACLE OF JESUS CHRIST WOULD CONVINCE YOU TO ACCEPT HIM AS MESSIAH?
Despite the enormous
evidence of the outstanding miracles our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
performed while in human form on earth and even with testimonies of many such
magnificent miracles occuring daily in the Name of Jesus Christ in our present
day, a lot of people still find it difficult to accept Him as Messiah.
What such people fail to realize
is that God is not a man but the Supreme Being who has Ultimate Authority and
Ultimate Power. There is absolutely nothing that can withstand the power of God
Almighty, the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the Word of
God (John 1:1,14; 1 John 5:7; Revelation 19:13) and God says man shall not live
by bread alone but by every Word God has spoken (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4).
If man shall live by every Word God has spoken, it means man shall live by
Jesus Christ, the Word of God, the Messiah.
Let us consider some of the
outstanding miracles our Lord Jesus Christ performed while on earth as the Holy
Bible, His Word, records:
(1) Jesus changed water into
wine, His first miracle - John 2:1-11
(2) Jesus healed a noble
man's son who was sick and at the point of death, His second miracle - John
4:46-54
(3) Jesus walked on water -
Matthew 14:22-33
(4) Jesus raised to life
Lazarus who was dead and buried for 4 days - John 11:1-45
(5) Jesus gave sight to a
man blind from birth - John 9:1-12
(6) Jesus cured a demoniac
who was completely beyond control - Mark 5:1-20
(7) Jesus raised a dead
child and healed a woman who suffered a hemorrhage for 12 years within hours of
each other - Mark 5:21-43
(8) Jesus fed at least 5,000
men, besides women and children from 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and His
disciples took up scraps that filled 12 baskets - Matthew 14:14-21.
(9) Jesus fed at least 4,000
men, besides women and children from 7 loaves of bread and a few fish, and His
disciples took up scraps that filled 7 large baskets - Matthew 15:29-39.
(10) Jesus fixed back the
cut off right ear of the High Priest's slave Malchus when they came to arrest
Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:49-51; John 18:10-11)
The truth is, any sane human
being would be stunned by these kind of miracles that Jesus Christ performed
and realize that He is sent by God.
Unfortunately, as is common
with the fallen human nature that is inherently evil (Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah
17:9), the Holy Bible records people who in spite of Jesus' outstanding
miracles refused to believe in Him with some even mocking Him.
What is most unfortunate is
that even the Pharisees who were the spiritual leaders of the Jews refused to
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and even stated that Jesus healed by the power
of beelzebub, the chief of demons (Matthew 12:22-37).
It was here that the Lord
Jesus Christ warned the Pharisees about sinning against the Holy Spirit by
claiming that what God had done through Him, Jesus Christ, was done by satan.
Common sense should tell
anyone that satan is God's number one enemy because of satan's rebellion along
with fallen angels or demons against God Almighty's Authority, which resulted
in their being kicked out of heaven forever and now dwell in hell.
How then would the Lord
Jesus Christ use satan's power to heal and still tell people to believe in God
Almighty? The Pharisees did this because of envy but offended God in the
process because God judges our motives (1 Corinthians 4:5; Proverbs 16:2) and
clearly the Pharisees motives were borne out of envy (Matthew 27:15-18).
Even while He lay on the
Cross of Calvary dying for the sins of mankind, people who had seen Jesus
perform those great miracles still mocked Him, including one of the thieves on
the cross.
Let us examine some of the
comments of these people:
(1) "You who destroy
the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of
God, come down from the cross." - Matthew 7:39-40 (passersby)
(2) "He saved others;
Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from
the cross, and we will believe Him." - Matthew 27:42 (The chief priests)
(3) "He trusted in God;
let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, "I am the Son of
God." - Matthew 27:43
(4) "If You are the
Christ, save Yourself and us." - Luke 23:39 (one of the thieves crucified
with Jesus on the Cross).
These comments are typical
of human beings who can say one thing about someone when all is well and then
say another thing when all is not or appears not well.
Some of these same people
witnessed the marvelous miracles of Jesus, believed in Him and praised Him but
when it appeared all was not well even though it was all God's will, these same
people started castigating their own Saviour, Messiah and Creator!..............TO BE
