WOLVES IN THE CHURCH (2)
Dear friend, in my last post, we looked at wolves in the
Church who are members. Today we continue that topic by looking at another
group of wolves in the Church - at the leadership level.
Recall I mentioned in my last post that the Church is the
Body of Christ, the congregation of Believers, a Sacred place of prayer, praise
and worship of God Almighty.
At the leadership level of the Church, we have
individuals, men and female, called by our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ, anointed
by Him to continue the Ministry work of preaching the Gospel, winning souls for
the Kingdom and shepherding the Church to obey Christ's commands as stated in
His Holy Word, the Bible.
In the course of carrying out this MOST IMPORTANT task of
the Gospel of Repentance and Salvation, the Church leaders must necessarily
work with and interact with the members as they cannot do it all alone.
This is why the Word of God tells us in Ephesians 4:11-15
"And He Himself (Christ Jesus) gave
some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and
teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying
of the body of Christ,
till we all come to the
unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to be a perfect man, to
the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
that we should no longer be
children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by
the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but
speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the
head- Christ."
As seen towards the end of this Scripture reference,
mention is made of "every wind of doctrine." What this means is that there
are some part of the Body of Christ, at leadership level, who have missed the
way and are misleading the flock of God with misleading doctrine offensive to
God.
These are also wolves in the Church because their
teaching and lifestyle not only offends God but is capable of tearing the church
apart and bringing great shame to the Gospel of Christ Jesus, our Holy Messiah!
Interaction between the church leadership and members,
especially male pastors and female members, is usually a major source of
challenge for the Body of Believers.
The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:6-7 "For of this sort are those who creep
into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led
away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge
of the truth."
Clearly, the scripture warns of deception by wolves in
the Church at leadership level, especially what they are capable of doing to
female members.
We see this in the numerous scandals rocking the Body of
Christ today and making Christianity look like something not to be desired,
whereas Christianity indeed is what every single individual in this world needs
to escape the destruction that is soon coming from God's wrath into this world
as a result of sin and evil.
Having said this, dear friend, how does one identify and
prevent himself or herself from being entangled by wolves at leadership level
in the Church? The most important way is simply by focusing on Christ Jesus and
His teachings as contained in His Holy Word, the Holy Bible.
It is what everyone must know. If a Church leader or
leaders give you counsel or advice that contradicts what God says in His Word,
the Holy Bible, I beg you in the name of God Almighty, do not take such counsel
as it offends God GRAVELY when we disobey Him since it amounts to rebellion.
God's Word tells us in 1 Samuel 15:23a "For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry."
Dear friend, this clearly shows why no one must ever
disobey or take the Word of God for granted. I repeat again, if what a church
leader tells you or his or her lifestyle contradicts what God's Word says,
please obey what God has said and pray fervently for spiritual recovery of the
soul of such church leader.
Anyone who dies in sin through disobedience to God's Word
will NEVER enter Heaven but will spend ETERNITY in hell fire FOREVER.
Let Christians avoid wolves at leadership level and pray
for them instead and obey God's commands ALWAYS.
