THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN - HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST!
The
Holy Bible tells us in Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to
a man, but its end is the way of death."
Dear
friend, at times I am baffled by some comments I hear from Christians about
issues of life.
In
Africa, it is common amongst elderly people, especially the womenfolk to
believe that when a young lady is of age but not married and is finding it
difficult to get a life partner, the "sensible" thing for her to do
is to sleep with a man, get pregnant and have a baby to take care of her in her
old age.
Looking
at the Scripture reference in Proverbs 14:12, one can clearly see that such
advice to a young unmarried maiden is a way of death.
Looking
at the advice, we see the under listed issues:
(1)
Fornication is involved - a sin against God's commands (Hebrews 13:4).
(2)
What if the lady dies during fornication?
(3)
What if she loses the pregnancy?
(4)
What if she has a medical problem and never gets pregnant after many acts of
fornication?
(5)
What if she dies during childbirth? Will she go to heaven or hell after
committing fornication?
(6)
What if the baby dies during childbirth? Would the mother commit fornication a
second time or third or fourth or fifth time just to have a baby?
(7)
What if the woman dies before the baby gets to take care of her in old age?
Dear
friend, the bottom line here, is that we need to be careful as Christians the
kind of advice we give to people in trying to help them resolve their
problem(s).
Any
advice that goes against God's Word, is the way of death. If you who gave the
advice claim that the person advised is at liberty to take the advice or not,
remember, we will all be judged by every word we speak on this earth to
determine if we would be condemned or not (Matthew 12:36-37).
This
is also why every Christian MUST ensure to read the written Word of God found
ONLY in one place, the Holy Bible, to ensure the advice you give to a friend or
relative or colleague or acquaintance or neighbour is not one that is the way
of death.
By
way of death as the bible states, it could be mean physical death or spiritual
death that would eventually land one forever in HELL fire.
For
instance, if you are PROPERLY married as a man or woman to someone who is
violent, as a Christian, the sensible thing to do as far as God's Word is
concerned is to separate from the violent partner, remain alone (UNMARRIED) and
pray for the violent partner until God intervenes and changes the person.
God
can and will change the violent partner if you sincerely pray for the person
out of love and a desire to keep your marriage in obedience to God's commands
(Hebrews 13:4).
Getting
into another relationship or divorcing the violent person goes against God's
command and if you as a Christian advise one to take this step, you are part of
the sin committed by virtue of God's Word in Malachi 2:15-16 and Matthew
12:36-37.
One
can argue and say it is because I am not in their shoes and that is why I am
making these statements.
Dear
friend, one thing you should realize as far as Christianity is concerned is
that God's Word is ULTIMATE and whatsoever He has declared in His Word is
FINAL, no matter how you try to reason it.
Rather
than assess issues with your emotions, study God's Word to find the solution
there. The solution to every problem lies in God's Word and as long as you make
a DILIGENT study of God's Holy Word found in the Bible and obey it faithfully,
you can NEVER find yourself compromising against God's commands.
Next
time someone comes to you with a pressing issue of life, pray with the person
to God to give a solution, then study God's Word to find the anwser.
God
has so made it easy that His Word is now on the internet so you can search the
Bible using the key phrase of the issue of life and several bible verses would
come up to guide you in the right direction and then you will get God's point
of view as far as the matter is concerned.
Dear
friend, even if there is no internet to perform a search where you are, you can
first pray to God for a solution and then ask Him to lead you to a true man of
God or preacher for guidance and God who sees your sincere intention to follow
His will, would respond and guide you appropriately.
There
is ONLY, one way to heaven, and His Name is Jesus Christ, the Word of God. Once
you have studied the Word of God, and diligently obeyed it, you have found
Jesus Christ and you are sure on your way to heaven.
