THE GREATNESS OF OUR GOD (6) - POWER OVER LIFE AND DEATH

Most people are afraid of death and the reason is because they see death as the very end and are unsure if there is a life after death or what becomes of them after death.

Death came into the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the Garden of Eden.

Eve allowed satan or the devil to deceive her to eat the fruit of that tree and she gave to Adam who also earth and thus they died spiritually, became separated from God and eventually died physically (Genesis 3).

Since then, every human being born into this world comes with the spiritual sin inherited from Adam and Eve, our first parents and thus everyone is destined to die physically as we have all come to know (Romans 5:12).

As a result of what happened at the Garden of Eden, satan or the devil had the keys of death (Hebrews 2:14).

Due to His great love for mankind, God sent His Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the earth to suffer a most gruelling and painful death all for one reason - to destroy what satan had done (1 John 3:8), to reconcile mankind to God (Colossians 1:20; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19) and to recover the keys of death (Revelation 1:18) from satan the rebellious angel.

As a result of His death on the Cross of Calvary, our Lord Jesus Christ has released us who believe from the fear and bondage of death (Hebrews 2:15).

Since Jesus has power over life and death, there is absolutely nothing a Christian or GENUINE child of God should fear concerning death.

This is because Jesus Christ can bring a dead person back to life. Jesus can take someone away in death - it is His prerogative over life and death.

Therefore, Jesus tells us not to fear anyone who can kill the body and do nothing afterwards. The ONLY one to fear is God who can kill the body and then throw the soul in hell (Luke 12:4-5).

Dear friend, this again, is the Greatness of our God - who can bring a dead person back to life or can take a life and then throw the soul in hell forever.

Hell is a place of eternal torment created for the rebellious angels satan and demons (Matthew 25:41). Unfortunately, any human being that dies without Jesus Christ or dies in sin will join satan and demons in hell FOREVER!

This is why Jesus says fear God ALONE! When you fear God, He will deliver from every power of darkness orchestrated by satan and his agents and even if they kill you, God can restore you back to life until the time He has allotted to you is fully spent.

However, if God kills you because of sin and throws you into hell, there is absolutely no one who can recover you.

Only Christians can enjoy this privilege because Jesus Christ died to save everyone and anyone who sincerely follows and obeys Jesus' commands in the Holy Bible is a Christian.

Dear friend, this is the Greatness of our God. Turn now to Him and accept Jesus Christ as Lord so you can enjoy this rare privilege.

All those live and die in Christ will go to heaven forever while those who live and die outside Christ or those who claim to have Christ but still live in sin will die and go to hell forever.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus' Most Righteous Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
