YOU STILL PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES TO DIE?

Luke 9:53-56 
53 But they did not receive Him (JESUS), because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”
55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.
Dear people of God, in today's Bible reading we find our Lord Jesus Christ rebuking two of His Apostles for wanting to call fire from heaven on their enemies in a Samaritan transit town for refusing to receive their Master Jesus Christ.
The Jews and Samaritans had a history of enmity (John 4:9) so the call for destruction of their enemies was normal for Apostles James and John.
However, the Master, Jesus Christ had to remind them that the Spirit operating in them as Christians was the Spirit of God, which is love, patience and forgiveness and that He, Jesus, came to SAVE and not DESTROY mankind.
Sadly enough, today, even with overwhelming evidence in the Bible as today's and other New Testament Scriptures have taught including the Lord Jesus' command to love and pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48), we find a good number of "Christians" who continue to pray for the destruction of their enemies whilst quoting old Testament Scriptures as basis for their actions.
The Old Testament is indeed the Word of God in the era of Judaism and the New Testament is the Word of God in the era of Christianity, so what is the basis for these faulty submissions by some Christians?
I now wonder, if God answered the prayers of Christians to destroy their enemies, who would be left for Christians to preach the Gospel to as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:18-20?
Also, there is hardly any genuine Christian today without a dirty past of sin and evil including my humble self. It is the prayer and preaching of genuine Christians that moved God to answer and convert us to also become Christians.
Now, if those who prayed for our conversion to Christianity had prayed the same prayer of destruction for us, that some now pray for their enemies and God answered, we do well know where we would have been now - ETERNAL DAMNATION IN HELL FIRE!!!
Dear friend, if God showed mercy on you, a Christian, by converting you from sin and evil back to Him from prayers of other Christians and the same God says do same to your fellow sinners and evil doers all around you, why do you continue to disobey God and do your own will and not
God's?
This is one reason many so call Christians have so many unanswered prayers - their lives are filled with anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment and hatred towards so called non Christians and sinners.
This is also why many so called Christians are today suffering needlessly in eternal damnation in hell fire, because of disobedience to God's commands!!!
Unfortunately, in Hell, there is no second chance.
Let us realize now that no sinner or evil doer can harm you spiritually if God truly dwells with you (Psalm 91:9-10).
Your focus therefore should be on doing all you can to get into heaven by faithfully obeying God's Word in the Holy Bible.
It is not a difficult thing to do - all you have to do is call God with a sincere heart to send His Holy Spirit to guide you and He will answer.
Pray also to God to show mercy on the sinners and evil doers and He will answer because that is His will - that no soul should perish and that all souls repent and turn to God through Christ Jesus our Lord (2 Peter 3:9).
If having read all this, you still refuse to obey God and pray for destruction of your enemies rather than for their salvation, what then is the difference between you and the islamic militants who kill people and claim to serve God's purpose?

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
