FEAR AND FAITH WORK EXACTLY THE SAME WAY

JOB 3:25-26 

"For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.

I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes.”

Dear people of God, the lead Bible text for today is taken from comments made by Job when he encountered challenges in his life.

Job’s statement showed his dominant thought was fear. Exactly like faith, fear gets you what you want if it remains your dominant thought.

Recall in an earlier post, we noted the Words of our Lord Jesus that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34b).

We always speak out the thoughts that dominate our minds and we always get the same result of what is spoken.

I have heard a testimony of a young man on CNN whose grandfather was killed by snipers sent to shoot innocent Syrians purportedly on the orders of their President Bashar al-Assad.

The young man said his grandfather was always saying “this people will kill us one day”, “this people will kill us one day”, and so it was that that prophecy was fulfilled in his life.

My spouse has a friend whose husband was fond of saying he was doing things for her in case he was no longer around. I used to tell my spouse the man should stop saying such things because he was prophesying into his life.

As it turns out sadly, the man is now late as he died from a fire accident from a generator explosion some years ago.

Even my late dad used to tell my mum that he knew she was a strong woman and she would cope if anything happened to him. My mum is still alive today while my dad left us many years ago.

Recently in Nigeria just last week, the Managing Director of a government agency was killed by social miscreants over a protest on a land matter.

The late man’s in-law is quoted as saying some two days ago that the late man was recently speaking of his dying before his wife and he cautioned him against such comments.

Dear friend, what most people are unaware of is the authority God has given them in the use of their tongue. The Bible says death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21).

Now, when we speak a negative word arising from fear as the dominant thought in our mind, we give satan the enemy the authority to strike at us.

On the other hand, when we speak using faith as the dominant thought in our mind using God’s Word, we give God the authority to activate blessings into our lives.

Dear friend, since you now know this, which would you focus on, FEAR OR FAITH? Your guess is as good as mine.

In case you still don’t understand this, I will end by telling you what I heard on a Gospel TV programme.

American Evangelist Jesse Du Plantis is quoted as saying that God told him that a number of Christians who had died and are now in heaven got there by their confession.

Such people gave authority to satan to strike them dead (without fulfilling their mission on earth, though now in a better place in heaven) by the words of their mouth, whereas their families and friends believe it is God who took them away!!

If you want to live long and prosper on earth, repent today of sins, give your life SINCERELY to Jesus Christ, dominate your mind with God’s Word in the Holy Bible and then use your mouth to activate blessings into your life by your confession of God’s Word ALWAYS.
