JESUS CHRIST THE KING IS COMING (3)

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 –
7 And to [recompense] you who are so distressed and afflicted [by granting you] relief and rest along with us [your fellow sufferers] when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in a flame of fire,

8 To deal out retribution (chastisement and vengeance) upon those who do not know or perceive or become acquainted with God, and [upon those] who ignore and refuse to obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Such people will pay the penalty and suffer the punishment of everlasting ruin (destruction and perdition) and eternal exclusion and banishment from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Dear people of God, I’m usually pained and saddened when I encounter people who argue against the truth of God’s Word and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I had such encounter some days ago when I told a colleague in answer to his question that our forefathers in Africa did not know God.

My friend then came up with a submission that since these forefathers (citing his father and grandfather as examples) lived to over a hundred years of age and in their era there was no corruption like we have it today, it means they knew God.

While my friend’s submission may sound plausible, let us look at what the Word of God says about those who never heard the Gospel of Christ Jesus – Romans 2:14-16 – When Gentiles who have not the [divine] Law do instinctively what the Law requires, they are a law to themselves, since they do not have the Law.

15 They show that the essential requirements of the Law are written in their hearts and are operating there, with which their consciences (sense of right and wrong) also bear witness; and their [moral] decisions (their arguments of reason, their condemning or approving thoughts) will accuse or perhaps defend and excuse [them]

16 On that day when, as my Gospel proclaims, God by Jesus Christ will judge men in regard to the things which they conceal (their hidden thoughts).

What triggered the discussion with my friend was when I asked him to repent and give his life to Jesus Christ, to which he responded to ask if there was only one religion.

I told him there is only one TRUE religion and that is Christianity and the rest of our discussion I have recounted above.

My pain and sadness concerning people like my friend is that I am sure of what I am saying and I told him so, and he responded to ask if I knew whether he was not sure of what he was saying.

The lead Bible text for today in 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 proves my point on what will happen to those who reject the Gospel of Christ Jesus and by inference reject God the Father Almighty.

For the individual who thinks I am wrong or talking rubbish, I will respond with another Bible verse in 1 Corinthians 1:18, For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.

I usually tell people, you cannot argue against the Word of God. There is only one God, one Lord Jesus Christ, one Holy Spirit and one Gospel message of Repentance and Salvation.

There is only one Word of God and it is the Holy Bible.

The only Way to reach the God of Heaven is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Jesus Christ has come to die and deal with sin to reconcile mankind to God. He has left us a Divine manual in the Holy Bible to lead us aright through the Power of the Holy Spirit without any stumbling ( 1 John 2:26-27).

This same Jesus Christ is coming again but this time to take those who are His own. He is also going to judge all those who have heard His Gospel Message of Repentance and Salvation but rejected it, ignored it, ridiculed it, twisted it, countered it and made mockery of it.

Dear friend, my prayer for you as you read this message is that our God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will have mercy and will open your eyes of understanding as He did for me, that you may know that the time to believe, repent, confess sin, accept Jesus Christ and live in strict obedience to His commands in the Holy Bible is now, for tomorrow or later may be too late.

May the good Lord bless and prosper you as you heed His Holy Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
