JESUS CHRIST THE KING IS COMING (4)

1 Timothy 6:13-15 – 

13 In the presence of God, Who preserves alive all living things, and of Christ Jesus, Who in His testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I [solemnly] charge you

14 To keep all His precepts unsullied and flawless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Anointed One),

15 Which [appearing] will be shown forth in His own proper time by the blessed, only Sovereign (Ruler), the King of kings and the Lord of lords,

Dear people of God, once again, we have today another Bible text that reminds us to obey the commandments of Christ Jesus our King of Kings and Lord of Lords because He is coming back to take His own people.

We are in that season, in fact the best season in the world, when we are engaged in events to mark the birth of Christ Jesus Who came in fulfilment of God’s Sovereign promise to send a Saviour into the world to deliver mankind from sin and reconcile mankind to God.

It is therefore appropriate to continue to remind ourselves of the essence of this season, lest we get engrossed ONLY in the material issues of this season of Advent rather than the more important spiritual part.

Jesus Christ, the King is coming. Are you ready to receive Him? If He comes now, are you qualified to follow Him back to Heaven?

To qualify, you must repent of sin and evil. You must confess your sins to God with a GENUINE promise never to go back to them.

You must then acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ as Messiah of the Universe and of your life and you must live in strict obedience to His commands in His Word, the Holy Bible,

Anyone who does these things is qualified. Anyone who lives a double life is disqualified (James 2:10).

You know yourself, and God knows you as you know yourself, so there is no hiding place for anyone and to God we must all give account – Hebrews 4:13.

One reason most people find it complex to follow God is because they think it is stressful and so they prefer to live a life of wrongdoing in sin believing they will get pleasure.

Whatever pleasure gotten this way is temporary and no matter how long we spend on this earth even if it is the full 120 years God has allowed for humans (Genesis 6:3), we will stay a longer time in eternity.

In eternity there is no time. Now consider having to stay your eternity, a world without end, in HELL FIRE all because of a few years of sinful pleasures here on earth living in rebellion to God’s commands.

Does it really make any sense to you?

On the other hand, you can still get the things of beauty in this world that are not offensive to God just by giving your life to Jesus Christ and then obeying His commands in the Bible – Matthew 6:31-33.

Even with temptations all around, you will not miss anything sinful because the Holy Spirit of God will always strengthen you once you sincerely call to Jesus for help.

So nobody has any excuse to sin, dear friends.

Jesus will not tell us to be perfect like our heavenly Father (Matthew 5:48) if He was not sure it could be done. He is God and He knows it can be done if we attach ourselves wholeheartedly to Him.

Today and NOW, is the moment of decision to follow Jesus Christ sincerely, for tomorrow or later may be too late.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Precious Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. The police have since found and arrested him.   Reports have it that the man was fond of beating his late wife at the slightest provocation, which has eventually led to her death in this latest incident.   Again, what could have caused this incessant violence?   Medical experts claim that humans have 2 s...

GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform. A sensible Christian who understands this will look for what God has said by careful, meditative study of God’s Word found only in the Holy Bible, thank God joyously for it, claim it and God will surely perform what His Word has stated.
