JESUS CHRIST THE KING IS COMING (5)

Hebrews 9:28 –
28 Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.

Dear people of God, a story is told of a pastor who stopped very late at night to buy himself some food and then came this prostitute to solicit for the pastor’s patronage and the man ignored her.

She kept soliciting and when the man entered his vehicle to move off, he asks the lady, “Do you not know that Jesus is coming soon?” to which the lady responded in local or pidgin English (translated) “it’s not today we have been hearing that Jesus Christ is coming” and off she went disappointed to continue her search for a prospect.

As far the lady was concerned, the fact that she had been hearing that Jesus Christ was coming “soon” and it had still not happened kinds of casts doubt on the authenticity of the Gospel message.

Let us see what God’s Word says in 2 Peter 3:9-10, “The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish (pass away) with a thunderous crash, and the [material] elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.”

Dear friend, as certain as death is for every human being, so is the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and as today’s lead Bible text has stated, Jesus is coming this time around to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.

This process is called Rapture when those who belong to Jesus Christ will rise up with Him to heaven and then, the presence of God will depart from this world and will be under the influence of evil never before seen since the creation of this world with satan, his demons and their human agents.

This is called the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21; Daniel 12:1; Joel 2:2) and would last for 7 whole years!!

Anyone who claims not to belong to satan’s camp but is currently still living in sin, telling lies, cheating people, oppressing others, embezzling company or government funds, engaged in adultery, calumny, fornication, prostitution, gossip, causing division, watching pornography, divorcing, backbiting, dancing and playing immoral music, watching immoral movies, murmuring against constituted authorities, evading taxes, reading immoral materials, etc would be left.

Anyone who claims to be a Christian, a follower of Christ and is evading payment of first fruits, tithes and offerings, not going to Church, not engaged in evangelism, living in unforgiveness, resentment, gossip, divorce, spreading rumours, discrimination, eye-service, wearing trousers (for women), wearing hair attachments (men and women), dressing indecently, immorally, provocatively, stealing or diverting church funds, listening to immoral music, buying immoral movies and music, taking your spouse’s money without consent, taking alcohol, living a double life as a Christian and also patronising voodoo priests and priestesses would also be left out.

It does not matter how long you claim to have known Christ. It does not matter whether you claim to speak in tongues. It does not matter whether you are the most generous person.

If your life in Christ is not according to His commands in the Holy Bible, today and NOW, is the day of Repentance. Tomorrow or later may be too late.

Dear friend who claims to be a Christian, why do you want to risk a life of bliss with Jesus Christ forever because of a few years of sinful pleasures and rebellion against His commands?

Dear friend who is yet to receive Jesus Christ into his or her life and thinks it is not necessary or not important because you are a free thinker or practising another religion and believe there are many ways to reach God, I urge you to carefully consider this message and prayerfully talk to Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to you.

I know my Jesus the Lord and Messiah – He would respond because He loves you and wants you saved.

Jesus Christ the King of King and Lord of Lords is coming. Are you ready to receive Him?

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Gabriel Ama.
