JESUS CHRIST THE KING IS COMING (6)

John 6:39-40 –

39 "And this is the will of Him Who sent Me, that I should not lose any of all that He has given Me, but that I should give new life and raise [them all] up at the last day.

40 For this is My Father's will and His purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day."

Dear people of God, on Sunday December 20, 2015 at a home Prayer meeting, our parish pastor told us of another pastor member of our church whom God raised from the dead some two weeks earlier.

The resurrected pastor gave this testimony at a gathering of other pastors where our parish pastor was present and they ate together at that gathering.

The pastor who gave the testimony was ill and eventually died in the hospital. Since he is from the South Eastern part of Nigeria, his body was being conveyed by road from Lagos State in South Western Nigeria (not same day he died) in an Ambulance when he suddenly resurrected at Ijebu-Ode, another town some 105 kilometres away in South West Nigeria.

In his testimony, this pastor stated how he got to the gate of heaven and met our Lord Jesus Christ there who asked him where he was going and he said he was going home.

Jesus Christ asked him the same question 3 times and each time he gave the same answer that he was going home (to heaven).

Jesus then showed him a picture screen of lost souls and told him that there are two thousand lost souls on earth that this pastor still had to minister to so they could be saved and that is why he had to come back to earth.

It was after this encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ that the pastor’s spirit came back into his body and he then resurrected.

I know there are some who would read this testimony, doubt it and wave it aside as untrue. If you are one such person and you say you believe in God, I will ask you one question – can God do all things?
If your answer to this question is yes, why then do you doubt that God can bring a dead person back to life?

Dear friend, the reason why I’m sharing this testimony is to draw our attention to three major issues

(1) the immense love our Lord Jesus Christ has for us, His children and the fact that Jesus does not want any souls to be lost in sin at death to satan and therefore perish in HELL FOREVER.
This fact is clear in the first part of our lead Bible text for today.

(2) the fact that there are still so many lost souls on earth in dire need of repentance from sin and salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(3) the value our Lord Jesus Christ places on evangelism, which prompted Him to send the pastor back to earth to finish the work God created and purposed him to do. This is also a lesson to all Christians that the work of evangelism is for every genuine Christian who loves and serves Jesus Christ.

As Christians we are mandated and expected to share the gospel with all mankind (John 16:15-16). We are also mandated and expected to live as true ambassadors of Jesus Christ in our words, thoughts, actions, reactions, etc as shining lights of the Gospel to a world darkened with sin and depravity (Matthew 5:16).

Dear friends, please let us take note of the fact that this pastor who made it to heaven the first time at death and was sent back to finish his work is not guaranteed an automatic place in heaven if he fails to do what Jesus Christ has sent him to do here on earth.

This should tell us who claim to be Christians that until your last breath on this earth or until Jesus Christ comes again in Rapture, we are all expected to live in strict obedience to His commands in the Holy Bible.

Jesus Christ the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is coming again. Every human being on this earth is DESTINED to meet Jesus either at death or at Rapture when He comes for His people.
It simply does not make sense to hear the Gospel being preached with all these testimonies and then you continue to harden your heart against the truth.

If you do that, then that becomes rebellion against God and God will certainly not change His stance on the fate of those who rebel against Him and His commands in the Holy Bible.

The time to decide, repent, confess sins, accept Jesus Christ and live in strict obedience to His commands is NOW, for tomorrow or later may be too late.

Are you ready to receive Jesus Christ?

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in the Glorious Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
