JESUS DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE

Hebrews 9:28 (AMP)
“Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.”

Dear people of God, a friend of mine recently told me how he sat with his own friends who were taking alcohol and when asked if he wanted some, one of them responded to say they knew he would not take alcohol.

However, another one of them said it is not people like my friend Jesus is coming for since the bible says Jesus came for sinners and so it is they taking alcohol that Jesus is coming for.

I asked my friend what his response was and he said those guys are lost and so he did not bother to respond. I pointed out to him that he missed an opportunity there to share the Gospel with them and to clarify their ignorance about Christ’s second coming.

As we can see from today’s lead Bible text, our Lord Jesus Christ has dealt with sin in His first coming and is coming a second time not to deal with the burden of sin again but to take those who are His and who are eagerly, constantly and patiently awaiting His return.

I told my friend that he should have explained this point to his alcohol drinking friends as a warning to them because nobody who is unqualified will go with Jesus Christ when He returns a second time.

How do we know those who are qualified? The Word of God in the Holy Bible is the written standard God will use to assess everyone – 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 15:4.

This is why we must all read the Holy Bible to know what is expected of us and to comply, for the Word of God is Spirit and life – John 6:63b.

Most Christians are currently celebrating Easter, the commemoration of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary to free mankind from condemnation to HELL as a result of sin of Adam and Eve.

Jesus did it because of His immense love for mankind, His creation – John 1:3. If Jesus did not come to die, then the world was destined for doom because of sin.

Many people will celebrate this season the wrong way, some self professed Christians inclusive. The right way to celebrate is by going to Church to fellowship with others, come home, meditate on the beauty of Good Friday and Easter Sunday and thank God for His mercies.

Don’t ever underestimate the power and spiritual value of what our Lord Jesus accomplished with all the insults, pain, shame, humiliation, spitting and torture he patiently endured from His own creation, all in a bid to save us sinners.

He died that we might live – 1 Thessalonians 5:10.

It may just be that Jesus will return this day. Dear friend, if Jesus returns today, what will He find you doing? Good or bad? Immorality or morality? The answer lies with you.

Only remember that no human being will escape God’s judgement even if they escape man’s judgement here on earth.

Please repent, confess your sins and turn to Jesus in truth and sincerity before it is too late.
Jesus loves you.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Gabriel Ama.
