WHEN NOTHING ELSE WORKS
Dear friend, are you in a situation where
you have prayed continuously to God without getting any response or solution?
Are in a situation where you have tried
your best to resolve and nothing seems to be working? Are in a situation where
it seems all hope is lost? Have your friends abandoned you to your fate mocking
and asking where is your God?
There is only one solution left to try -
praise God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Sing songs of
praise genuinely from your mind to God and I assure you the solution will come.
It may not sound as a solution to you
reading this but I tell you, dear friend, it is THE SOLUTION.
There are events in the Holy Bible to
confirm what I am saying here. We have the case of King Jehoshaphat whom God
commanded to praise Him (God) when Judah went to war against the Moabites, the
Ammonites and Meunites - 2 Chronicles 20:1-24.
God then made the enemies to fight each
other and destroy themselves completely all without the men of Judah raising a
sword. All they did was praise God Almighty Who ALONE has all Authority and
Power.
Another case is when God commanded the
Israelites that He had given the city of Jericho to them even when it had yet
happened.
God then commanded the Israelites to march
with the Ark of Covenant (God's presence) round the walls of Jericho once a day
for 6 days and then seven times on the 7th day. At the end the Israelites were
to shout loud at the sound of a trumpet.
When they shouted, the walls came down flat
and the Israelite soldiers went in and utterly destroyed the city and killed
all inhabitants except Rahab the prostitute and her family who had rendered
assistance to the Israelite spies that had earlier visited the city - Joshua 6.
We see a third example in the case of Paul
and Silas who were wrongly accused and jailed after casting out a fortune
telling demon from a girl used to make money by her handlers.
In the jail at midnight, Paul and Silas
started praising God and all of a sudden, there was a mighty earthquake that
shook the prison walls to its foundations and loosened the fetters used on all
the prisoners including Paul and Silas.
Eventually, the prison warder and his
household all gave their lives to Jesus Christ and Paul and Silas were set free
by the magistrates of the city - Acts 16:16-40.
Dear friend, when you praise God when you
are in the most difficult of situations, it moves God to act because as Moses
described, God is fearful in praises because He does wonders then- Exodus
15:11.
However, we must note carefully that our
God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ only reacts to praises from
His children.
Yes, all humans are created in God's image
and likeness and we are all His physical children but God's spiritual children
are those who have repented of sin and evil, given their lives genuinely to
Jesus Christ as Lord and are living in strict obedience to His commands in the
Holy Bible - John 1:12-13.
Only such people can praise God acceptably
for God to respond with wonders in the most difficult of situations.
God would only respond to a sinner if the
person has made a promise to serve God once God responds to his or her
situation and God always responds because He does not want any soul to die and
perish in HELL forever - 2 Peter 3:9.
Dear friend, if you are going through
difficulties so severe it appears all hope is lost, just give your life over to
Jesus Christ and praise Him and see Him respond with mighty power and wonders.
Do ensure however, when you have the
solution, not to go back to sin because that would cut you off spiritually from
Jesus Christ and you would be worse off than at the beginning.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His
Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus' Most Powerful Name, Amen.
