THE LOST SOUL
Today in my Church we started a 3-day 2016
December retreat program. I had gone out yesterday to share out the invitation
flyers to the program when I came across a fellow who rejected it whilst
claiming he was an atheist. He was just the second person I had wanted giving
it to when he said he won't come and gave his reason.
I immediately took interest in him and
tried to find out why he had taken such a decision, this year, according to
him.
He went on to talk about how churches
preach about prosperity and nothing else. He also mentioned how religion was
the cause of the problem of this world and in spite of all I said in the short
time we discussed, I could hardly make sense of what he was saying.
He spoke about politicians, religion and
corruption and I wondered what the link was. He said churches were springing up
everywhere and yet the members were committing evil also.
At the end of the day I managed to tell him
not to look up to humans for help (Jeremiah 17:5) but to Jesus Christ (Jeremiah
17:7) as the Bible says. I also advised him to study the lifestyle of Jesus
Christ as contained in the Holy Bible and he would see that the problem was
with humans and not Christianity.
He promised to come back some other time to
speak to me but I wonder if that would ever happen because he is a lost soul in
dire need of salvation. It just occurred to me that I can pray about it and God
would make it work (a second meeting) so I would do just that!
Dear friend, have you met anyone like this?
This fellow in my estimation cannot be more than 30 years of age and he has
already given up on the one thing that he needs most - his salvation that can
only be found in Jesus Christ.
It is clear his knowledge of the Christian
faith is very shallow and he was busy speaking seriously of things he knew
little or nothing about.
He however made a valid point, which I must
admit. His reference to some practitioners of the Christian faith living a
double life of sin is spot on.
However, this fellow was not saying anything new
because the Word of God has already stated this as a feature of the last days
in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
Unfortunately, this fellow has gone against
the very advice the Word of the God gives in verse 5 where it says Christians
should keep away from those who claim Christianity but live a sinful life. Such
people are already in danger of going to HELL unless they repent and turn back
sincerely to Jesus Christ.
This fellow chose to use that as a
yardstick to assess Christianity and took the wrong decision to give up his
faith.
Fortunately, I can still and would still
pray for him in the hope and belief that Jesus Christ would show mercy and
arrest him and bring him back to his senses. I say so because Jesus is the only
who can save someone and He says His alone is the prerogative of mercy as
stated in Romans 9:15.
I also pray that it would not be too late
for this fellow to return because it is people like this lost soul that make
satan very happy in that he has by his renunciation of his Christian faith
automatically given his membership and soul to satan's kingdom of darkness.
The consequence of doing this is grave
because all such lost souls who reject Jesus Christ and/or who die in sin will
certainly go to HELL to stay with their master satan.
The Holy Bible makes it clear in Psalm
9:17, "The wicked shall be turned
into HELL, and all the nations that forget God."
Dear friend, please share this message with
all your friends, relatives, acquaintances and anyone you know that has gone
this wrong path so they can repent and retrace their steps before it is too
late.
Jesus Christ is coming very, very soon.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His
Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus' Most Merciful Name, Amen.
