WHY DO YOU GO TO CHURCH? (2)

 2 Timothy 2:19
“Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God [which He has laid] stands [sure and unshaken despite attacks], bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord stand apart from wickedness and withdraw from wrongdoing.”

Dear people of God, in my last post on this topic, we read of my encounter with the man who came begging for help and who on further engagement informed me that he went to Church for survival.

Sadly though, there are many today who go to Church for same or even worse reasons. Many go to Church because they want to take advantage of others since they know a message of love, tolerance and forgiveness is preached in Church.

Once they are able to defraud a brother or sister, they stop coming to Church and look for the next congregation to execute their evil plan again and again.

Some go to church as agents of satan to destabilize the congregation. They come ready to cast spells to make members sleep during the sermon and therefore miss a very important part of the service, the Word of God.

Some agents of satan have a specific mission in church, which is to destroy the pastor through sexual immorality and resultant disintegration of the church. They leave immediately the evil mission is accomplished.

There are still others who go to Church for fashion to show their latest clothes and sewing. Within this group are those who would spend almost an hour to dress and make up, go late and cause distraction.

Some, especially the womenfolk wear skimpy, see through and cleavage-revealing clothes made from the pit of hell!!

Even during the church service, they would stand up to visit the restroom almost 3 to 4 times for others to see their clothes and partially naked bodies.

There are some who go to church to see the latest fashion others have made so they could copy.

As today’s lead Bible text makes us to understand, our Lord Jesus Christ knows those who are His and warns those who call themselves Christians to depart from wickedness and withdraw from wrong doing.

We are further told that there is no amount of demonic attack that can destabilize the church of God because its firm foundation is sure.

Dear friend, if your reason for going to Church is contrary to the will of God, which is to appreciate and worship Him with other brethren, listen, sincerely obey and diligently act on His Word in the Holy Bible, the time to repent is now, for tomorrow will be too late.

Jesus Christ knows those who are His and no one can deceive Him because He is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform. A sensible Christian who understands this will look for what God has said by careful, meditative study of God’s Word found only in the Holy Bible, thank God joyously for it, claim it and God will surely perform what His Word has stated.
