SICKNESS IS NOT OF GOD

There are very many people including Christians who attribute sickness to God but they want the same God to heal them so they pray to Him or visit His anointed (pastors) to pray for their healing.

Nowhere in the entire Holy Bible is sickness attributed to God. This is why a Christian should read the Bible and know what it says concerning ALL issues as God has commanded us in Matthew 4:4.

One of the most common incident on sickness one can easily relate to in the Holy Bible is about Job.

After God commended Job's faithfulness while discussing with satan, we see satan claim that because God's blessing and hedge of protection is around Job, that is why Job is faithful to God.

God then gives satan the leeway to test Job's faithfulness and satan goes ahead to attack Job's possessions and family but Job remains faithful - Job 1.

At another time in front of satan God again commends Job's faithfulness in spite of all that satan has done to Job, to which satan responds that a person would give all he has to spare his life and so Job would curse God if he (Job) is personally afflicted with an ailment.

God again gives satan the leeway to carry out his evil plan on Job to test his faithfulness but to spare Job's life.

Again, satan goes to work to afflict Job with a terrible ailment and even though Job's wife tells him to curse God and die, even though Job's friends accuse him of committing sin for this to have happened to him, Job remains faithful to God - Job 2.

In the end, we see Job remain faithful and God restores his entire lost possession two fold - children and material wealth - Job 42:10-17.

Dear friend, in this story, as is in all cases of human existence, it is satan who causes the sicknesses that afflict people. Call the sickness by whatever name - cholera, malaria, HIV/AIDs, cancer, Ebola, psoriasis, ovarian cysts, Zika virus, asthma, etc, satan is the one behind it because it is his nature as the thief to steal, kill and destroy as the Lord Jesus Christ has stated in John 10:10a.

So it is wrong for anyone to attribute sickness to God and charge God wrongly, thus committing sin. We see that the Bible says Job never charged God wrongly for his affliction - Job 1:22.

So it is proper at this point to ask, what is God's role in sickness? We see the answer clearly in the Lord Jesus' statement in John 10:10b, "I have come that they (God's children) may have life and that they may have it more abundantly."

We see the answer in Matthew 8:17b, "He Himself (Jesus Christ) took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." We see the answer in 1 Peter 2:24, "who Himself (Jesus Christ) bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we (God's children), having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you WERE healed."

We see the answer in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

Dear friend, we can go on and on to quote Holy Bible verses on healing and in all we will see one thing stand out clearly, which is, that God's purpose and plan for His children is for health, wealth and prosperity in every area of our lives!

So how can the same God be the one to cause sickness? That would be a contradiction and we know that God is not the author of contradiction or anomalies or confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33) because God's nature is faithfulness to His Word He has spoken.

God says He cannot break His covenant nor alter what He has spoken - Psalm 89:34. 

This is also stated in Numbers 23:19 where God says He cannot lie and in Isaiah 55:10 where God says His Word MUST accomplish the purpose for which He spoke it before returning to Him.

In essence, God is a God of integrity, righteousness and holiness. So you must take whatever is written in God's Word as the Truth because that is what it is.

Therefore, if God says His plan for us is prosperity and excellent health, then so it is.

Dear friend, have you or someone you know charged God wrongly for your ill health? Today you know that is sinful and you must repent immediately. Today, you also know that satan is the cause of all sicknesses by whatever name.

Most importantly, today, you know that God's purpose for His children is excellent health and prosperity in all areas of their lives - abundant life.

So it is only God's children that can make rightful claim to God's promises, covenants and declaration in His Word in the Holy Bible.

When a child of God reads, believes, meditates on and declares what is written in God's Word in the Holy Bible, it must come to pass in his or her life.

It is as certain as day and night happening on any given day.

So how does one become a child of God? The answer is found in John 1:12, "But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."

There you have it. To become a child of God and have the right of a child of God, you must receive Jesus Christ into your life and believe in His name.

The way to do this sincerely, genuinely and wholeheartedly is to examine your life, repent of sins and evil, confess the sins and evil in prayer to God in the name of Jesus Christ, forsake the sins and evil and begin to live a life of total obedience to God's commandments in the Holy Bible.

When you do this, you automatically become a child of God and have power over satan, demons, sickness and all evil influences as Jesus Christ has given you the authority in Luke 10:19.
