WHY COMMIT A CRIME WHEN JESUS CHRIST CAN HELP YOU?
These days it is so
sad to read excuses people give for committing crimes. I saw a headline just
moments ago of a man arrested at an airport with 66 wraps of heroin in his
body.
For those who don’t
know, heroin is a psychoactive drug, i.e. it is an illegal stimulant that acts on the central nervous system to alter the chemical balance
that controls a person's moods & thoughts and affects behaviour.
This man is a
computer teacher and the excuse he gave is that he swallowed the wraps of heroin
to help his dying son.
Sometime recently, I
saw another headline of an arrested armed robber who said he went into armed
robbery to help his siblings.
These are the kinds
of stories one reads these days and it shows a world in dire need of a Saviour.
Indeed, there is a
Saviour Who has told us to come to Him to take away our burdens. He says in
Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you
to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]”
The difference
between this Saviour and any other being is that He can never tell a lie and He
can never fail you. He has unlimited resources with which He can help you.
One important thing
you need to understand, dear friend, is that this Saviour can never fail you
because He loves you and He created you even while you were in your mother’s
womb – Psalm 139:13.
No matter how
difficult your problem is, this Saviour will make a way for you where there seems
to be no way.
Even when He can do
all these things for you, which the world calls impossible, this Saviour will
never impose Himself on you. He wants you to make that decision yourself to
come to Him.
By now you should
know I am talking about the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Messiah.
Dear friend, I mean
every word of what I have stated about the Saviour Jesus Christ.
Another important
thing you must know is that no matter how grievous a sin you think you have committed,
if you would just come sincerely to Him to confess that sin, tell Him how sorry
you are, decide sincerely in your mind and promise to follow and obey Him all
the days of your life, He will help you.
The decision must
come from you, dear friend, but I tell you that Jesus Christ can help you solve
any and every problem you have when you develop a relationship with Him in
sincere obedience to His commandments in the Holy Bible.
Whether you have a
dying child, parent, spouse, relative, friend or neighbour, Jesus can bring the
person back to excellent health.
Whether you have
piling and unpaid bills, Jesus can pay all at once to clear it. Whether you
need money to solve a genuine need, Jesus can provide for you.
You do not have to
commit a crime to live a successful life in this world.
Whether you
consider yourself the worst sinner, Jesus will forgive you when you repent sincerely
and return to Him. I repeat, your repentance must be sincere.
You may want to
ask, how do I know this? I know because of my personal experience and Jesus has
never failed me.
You have seen
genuine proof in His Word above in Matthew 11:28. Just take Jesus at His Word
and He will surely perform it as He says in Jeremiah 1:12.
Come, dear friend,
and get every help to every problem only in Jesus Christ and no one else. Make sure
also that you surrender to Him immediately and live sincerely in obedience to
all His commands so His help can remain permanent for you.
Not only will Jesus
help you here, you are assured of permanent residence with Him in heaven if
your faithfulness to His commandments in the Holy Bible endure to the end of
your stay here on earth.
