GOD DOES NOT TEMPT ANYONE
Dear friends, the
Word of God tells us in James 1:13, “Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted
from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He
Himself tempts no one.”
Even though this statement is taken from
the truth of God’s Word in the Holy Bible, you find so many people say maybe it
is God’s will for their prayers not to be answered when it does appear the answer
is taking long in coming.
Some say, “who knows, maybe God is
testing me to see my faith”. You even hear some talk about God allowing a period
of dryness in one’s life!
Does the Holy Bible say anything of such?
The answer is no. people who say those things need to read their Bible to know
the truth of God’s Word.
The Bible says God does not tempt
anyone. The person the Bible refers to as the tempter is satan or the devil –
Matthew 4:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5; 1 Corinthians 7:5; Revelation 2:10.
In fact, listen to what God says in Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says
the Lord, thoughts and plans
for welfare and peace and
not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
12 Then you will
call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.
13 Then you will
seek Me, inquire for, and require
Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your
heart.
As you can see, God’s thoughts and plans for His
children are for good, welfare and peace and not for evil, to give us the hope
in the final outcome.
So God cannot be a tempter when He wants good for us as
every outcome of our prayers to Him as His children and as a Father to us.
God is never late in coming. The time He comes is
always the perfect time because He makes all things perfect in His time.
So please stop saying what God has not told us in His
Word in the Holy Bible because that would only make you delay in receiving what
you prayed to God for, as it is a sign of unbelief, lack of faith!
The Holy Bible tells us in James
1:5-8, If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask
of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be
given him.
6 Only it must be
in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the
one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that
is blown hither and thither
and tossed by the wind.
7 For truly, let
not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the
Lord,
8 [For being as he
is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he
thinks, feels, decides].
Again, you can see that the man or woman of faith is
the one who receives an answer to prayers made to God through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Now, you can only receive answers to prayers as a child
of God. You may now ask, who is a child of God? The process starts when someone
realises his or her need for salvation found only in Jesus Christ – Acts 4:12.
This person thereafter repents of sin and evil,
confesses and forsakes them, asks God for forgiveness, receives, believes and
accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as Messiah and then lives a sincere life of
obedience to Christ’s commandments in the Holy Bible.
Such person then becomes a child of God as seen in John
1:12.
Dear friend, there is something else very important
that I want you to note.
Having become a child of God, you must also pay special
attention to what God has said in Jeremiah 29:13, which is that you will find
Him when you search for Him with all your heart.
Therefore I ask you who claims to be a child of God 3
questions:
(1)
Are you living sincerely in complete obedience to God’s Word
and commandments in the Holy Bible or you select what you choose to obey?
(2)
Can you search your conscience and come out describing
yourself as a person of faith?
(3)
Have you searched for God with all your heart? What is your
current relationship with God? Do you really love God with all your spirit,
soul, body, mind and strength?
For the one reading this who is yet to surrender to
become a child of God, you are missing a lot and in dire risk of losing out
both in this world and in the world to come.
I have taken time to explain the process to you above. The
time to consider and decide for action is today and now, for tomorrow or later
may be too late.
May the good Lord
bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’
Most Merciful Name, Amen.
